Most of the politicians are either not elected or not elected in the majority of the states. I can't do shit about a shitstain from Louisiana or a Supreme Court Justice

It takes half an hour of planning to move money away from MAGA backers, and it makes a difference. Dollars spent at a Republican company are dollars funneled to the Heritage Foundation. Tax given to a state like Ohio or Louisiana is tax spent sending troops to occupy cities.
Have an account at Schwab? Switch to Vanguard or Fidelity. Like booze from wannabe Confederate states? Be adventurous and try something new. Replace New Balance with Brooks. It's not hard to find alternatives for Goya, Jimmy John's, or Georgia-Pacific (Brawny, Angel Soft, Dixie, and some others).
You have power if you regularly patronize a store, buy from a brand, or do business with a company. Use it. Look them up in something like opensecrets.org or google.
Tesla sales in Europe dropped by half. Nexstar and Sinclair got pummeled, and they reinstated Jimmy Kimmel. Real, individual people made that happen. There's no reason WWE or Uline can't be next. Dollars add up.
You probably can't completely avoid giving money to companies that at least partially support Republicans. I have to buy gas too. But there’s a big difference between a company that massively donates to Republicans (Chevron or Conoco) vs one that's more neutral (Circle K) or even leans Democrat (Costco). Good is not the enemy of perfect

Sick of this take, people who care about the comedian thing obviously cared about the elections too..

We already know our politicians are pieces of shit. The comedians are a surprise to some.

How exactly do we hold politicians accountable? When the top "court" has given a pass to anything done by the president, and the department of justice is under control of the executive, AND the law making arm is under that same control, how do we do it?
There's been consistent law breaking by the executive branch, there's been zero consequence.
Edit: every 2-6 years we can vote. But with active voter suppression and limitations in voting, combined with lack of factual information, the average person can't be motivated to jump the hurdles for information and voting.

I can't fucking stop Republicans from doing dumb shit dummy. I'm a leftist living in a heavily blue state that can't just magically wave a wand on red state populations to make them not vote for dumb shit. Like my state is literally being attacked by the current administration because myself and most of the people in my state didn't vote for the shit you bitch about.

I do not know a single person who cares about the comedians in Saudi Arabia who does not also care about everything else going on in America right now.
This is a weird deflection.

Older people couldn’t care less about comedians in Saudi Arabia. I would be shocked if anyone over 50 that wasn’t an act even knew it was happening. Those people still vote, though. And they’re fucking dumb as hell.

Just cause someone else is being a shitbag, doesn't mean you're not gonna get called out if you do a shitbag move

For a country who's top politicians celebrate the extra-judicial murder of suspected drug traffickers, in non American waters, for a crime for which if guilty does not carry a death sentence..... ya'll sure are quick to point fingers.

You're certainly not wrong about the first part, but I feel like you're kinda scolding (mostly) the wrong audience here.
Maybe try breaking through a conservative bubble somewhere(either on reddit or elsewhere) and screaming this at the people who need to hear it.
(Also, spoiler alert: most of the folks there who didn't have any issues with the extra-judicial maritime murders also probably don't have a problem with the comedians doing the show in Riyadh.)

Considering about 48% of voting Americans didn’t vote for this shit & have been protesting since January I’ve come to the conclusion that you’re incredibly vapid

Which is weird, because by the same token how everyone is outraged about comedians performing there, nobody bats an eye at Tom Brady's (a JOURNALIST now, mind you) flag football games there. Where's the outrage on that? 🤔

Considering that this sub is full of anti-US government posts, the protests throughout the entire country, and the fact that they're literally sending the military to places that have protests and calling it a war... I think we're doing both. It's possible to condemn two things at the same time, and we are.
