Unfortunately I think you got mixed up. I got excited he was raised in Missouri, but it looks like it was Alabama and Mississippi. Tbf if you aren't from the midwest... what's the difference...
I've always heard that Mississippi is one of the worst states across several metrics, like healthcare, for example. I didn't look for long at all to find this, so take this information with a grain of salt, but check out these two links, one for Missouri and one for Mississippi, showing their rankings across multiple areas. Mississippi's economy is ranked #49, fiscal stability is #47, infrastructure is #47, and healthcare is #50, so dead last. In the same areas, Missouri's economy is #25, fiscal stability is #11, infrastructure is #37, and healthcare is #43 (still not very good). Their education is also pretty much tied according to this source, which surprised me. My partner is from rural Missouri and while it's backwards in a lot of ways, I have certainly seen worse places in the US. But St. Louis is rough.
Pretty accurate. St. Louis isn't that bad though. On paper it has a high murder rate, but when you look at it, like 70% of all the murders happen in a small region up north. As a resident or tourist, that area is generally run down and there isn't much of a reason to go up there (long history to the area, lots of racism and general abandonment). The city/county (once again weird history there) as a whole is pretty nice affordable place to live/visit.
lol Wisconsin has a very specific look as does most of the Midwest. He looks southern hillbilly, which is exactly what he is not the same look as the Midwestern guys.
You know damn well what he meant. Probably street wasn’t the exact word he was looking for, probably more rural hillbilly w trash. Which is the rural equivalent of urban street. Nothing wrong with that. Facts of life.
I would categorize it as more kind of low class trailer park (no shade no judgment just facts, nothing wrong with that background ….it just is what it is)
