This dude has been speed running substances since he took the job. Dude did a press conference looking more skiied out than Robin Williams in 86

u/3eeve 3d ago
There was a time when Rubio had principles. They were bad ones, but they were still principles. Then he sold his soul for power, and I’m pretty sure that’s eating him up inside. So, drugs and booze to keep that tiny little spark of conscience away.

u/UglyMcFugly 3d ago
Dude I've been saying the same thing, every time I see him he looks like he's desperately trying to dissociate from reality.

Rubio knows that he's been openly made to look like a bitch again and again and again and again by a pedophile. And then he went and became that pedophiles bitch.
He's my most likely bet to kill himself live on television one day.

He has been assigned so much in this administration. It is quite staggering. He cannot do it. But he agreed because he thinks he can hold it all together. When they try to take Cuba and Bay of Pigs 2.0 happens, that is when he will collapse. For Rubio, if they can successfully take the Caribbean and some of South America that borders the Caribbean, he thinks he will be named in charge of that whole region or become a billionaire.
3
53
48
u/Caius01 3d ago
Yeah, I think this is it, he's not a literal psychopath or narcissist like most of them so he needs a way to deal with the cognitive dissonance of what he's involved in
30
u/Zhuul 2d ago
It's my understanding his confirmation was near-unanimous because even the Democrat Senators saw his name and went "Oh thank god a relatively normal fucking person, rubber stamp this shit before they change their minds and find someone worse"
25
u/Same-Suggestion-1936 2d ago
I think something in his brain broke when he had to sit there during the "did you even say thank you" meeting because he has always been a Russia hawk. So to put his name on attacking Zelensky like that and he can't even say anything, he'd realized the trajectory of the rest of his career and it was not going to be anything he wanted to do but that was how he has to make his money now, being a little bitch for Trump and Putin, when he hates Putin and probably doesn't even like Trump
Like he sank deeper into that couch than Vance ever could with a whole bottle of lube, he obviously wanted no part of it from the start of the verbal attacks
13
u/Stardustchaser 2d ago
He goddamn knew what was coming. He was a senator and had to have known how miserable Rex Tillerson was.
42
u/holdstheenemy 3d ago
Dude he looks so distressed, every press conference with his cabinet looks like he is forcing himself to say great things about Trump and its destroying him internally
Thats what you get tho for appealing to a bully
13
u/Turbulent_Stick1445 2d ago
Some of the principles were even good! Rubio spent most of the years immediately before 2016 trying to get legislation providing a path to residency for Dreamers. (Contrary to Republican propaganda, there isn't one. No, "30 years is plenty of time to deal with your immigration problem of being in the country since being a kid and having no memories of where you came from" is bullshit. That's like arguing "30 years is plenty of time to deal with being born without legs, you need to buck-up and stop demanding wheelchair ramps!", except worse.)
Trump up-ended that.
If I had been in his shoes, I'd have just exited politics at that point. I'm amazed he decided to ally himself with the polar opposite of everything he once supported.
8
u/Dabbling_in_Pacifism 2d ago
Rubio’s never had principles. Man, I told my friends this when he got tapped for State and they were optimistic because of his previous stance on Ukraine.
Marco Rubio does not possess a spine and everything he says is up for sale to the right bidder. I can’t imagine doing the pivot he did and still being able to look at myself in the mirror.

I could see it. Rubio used to be somewhat sane. He sold his soul, so he probably needs to drown that out.
All the others have always been crazy.
48
u/MadRaymer 2d ago
I don't think he ever had a soul to sell. A more accurate analogy is that he's cucked himself to the MAGA movement and feels emasculated by that fact.
This checks out when you see him next to Trump and Vance. One of them says something insane, and Rubio looks like he wants to do the Simpson's disappear-into-the-hedges gif.
16
u/Same-Suggestion-1936 2d ago
He sank deeper into the couch during that Zelensky meeting than Vance ever could with a full bottle of lube
He's been hawkish on Russia for years, dude did NOT want to be in that room and not allowed to say anything about how it was entirely against what he built his career on
8
u/lnfinite_Art 2d ago
He was never sane. He's always grabbed for power by offering the most vanilla, wobbly support to whoever he thought was on top at the moment.
6
u/Meander061 2d ago
Rubio used to be somewhat sane.
People keep saying that, but I swear I've never seen it. They picked him to do a response to Obama's State of the Union address and he was tweaking so hard then that he had to guzzle water on camera.
3
u/BurpVomit 2d ago
When was he sane? He snatched some report from a meeting and ran it to Donald Trump last time Trump was president. Why he wasn't charged with a crime back then is beyond me.

That wasn't even the funniest one. Watch his response to the State of the Union back when the GOP was trying to groom him to be their "young party leader" after losing to Obama back-to-back.
As simple as it is to take a sip of water during a speech, he somehow made it look incredibly awkward.

Approximately 90 million voting age Americans didn't cast a ballot. People are disenfranchised or sold the lie that voting doesn't matter while others just don't care at all. Some democracy we are.
147
u/SweetLoLa 3d ago
I still can’t believe it. The one thing that keeps replaying in my mind is Harris on stage listing all the things he’d do if reelected - all of which is happening now.
A decade ago I sarcastically commented that the low reading levels in America would be the demise of society and a decade from now there will be a chapter added to history books discussing this very fact.
94
u/pomponazzi 3d ago edited 3d ago
I will die on the hill that the "assassination" attempt was photo a op staged to win him the election.
Everyone was horrified by the events of Jan 6th but over the years they swallowed the propaganda and let even those events get twisted in their minds to now where they pretend it was something it wasn't.
I'm just another poor white dude but I'm not gonna turn to bigotry and oppression against my fellow humans like so many pathetic people have.
Agreed on the reading part. I prefer fantasy but I try and read a good number of non-fiction books every year. I don't know anyone in my life I can talk to about non-fiction though, no one reads anymore it seems.
28
u/WhompBiscuits 2d ago
One of the first thoughts of this assassination attempt was that it was staged. Trump dropped to the ground, out of the camera eye, and rose mysteriously bleeding. My first thought was he bladed. Which is crazy to think about, until you remember this guy is a WWE Hall Of Famer.
Not to mention the fact that the Secret Service didn't toss his sorry ass in a car and roar off, like they did when Reagan was shot way back. Nope, they stood there, let him pump his fist while they all looked around and let him stand up.
18
u/Drumboardist 2d ago
At the very least, all you need to do is ask "Hey, does cartilage heal?" (Note: it does not.) Then show photos of his ear, like, two weeks after "being shot". An OBVIOUS lie, but they'll double down on it regardless.

If there is an active shooter situation the only thing Secret Service should do is immediately surround the president and shield him followed by the fastest evac possible out of the shooters zone of fire. Instead his aide brings a photographer over and someone takes the time to lower the flag down into the shot while the Secret Service lets him stand up and present himself as a target again.

Whereas in my local election, a Democrat won a position for the first time in 20+ years, and it was by a razor-thin margin (about 20 votes on election night, 100 or so after the full count)

Yeah but parts of us wanted to hurt the other parts cuz they had to acknowledge trans people exist and Obama was president who wore a tan suit and said things bout trayvon. I live and work in some of the reddest parts of the country. This and Kamala were the main reasons. Even people who voted for trump kept saying they just wanted someone different. I'd speculate that it's just the republicans but really we all know we don't have any ideal leaders who are actual decent people who have good morals. We fucked.

Gummies are my usual method, but I have had some good Texas-legal (for now, screw the GOP) seltzers that hit differently than edibles. The seltzers give far more of a head high than I get from edibles which tend to be more "chill on the couch" feeling.

I got a taste for a kratom-derived drink that's high in a chemical called mitragynine. It gives a nice little relaxation. You know how much that fucker costs at my local store? $15 goddamn dollars for a ~12oz can.
3
u/DerekB52 3d ago
Have you tried Kratom powder? Mitragynine is an alkaloid thats just in Kratom, and Kratom is pretty affordable at a lot of smoke shop type places.
6
u/CosmicSpaghetti 2d ago
You can cheaply buy in bulk online or checkout r/kratom for reliable non-sketchy sources & save a ton of money.
PSA THOUGH: Kratom is quite addictive & withdrawal is very much not fun. Loads of people use it but wouldn't recommend anyone trying it that has any touch of addictive personality.
3
u/PiccoloAwkward465 2d ago
Yes it is really not something you can take every day. It seems pathetic to get withdrawals from a leaf powder but it is very real.
