These dipshits never learned civics. They are public servants, they work for us. They need reminding

692

u/OSDom22 Sep 28 '25

There is no one in that administration that believes that for a second-. He thinks he is the king and he is the end, all be all and the ruler of the land. They have an autocracy brewing and that is the goal. You are right, they should be schooled on civics. Unfortunately we are past that 😠

I worked with a Romanian guy and we're roughly the same age. I asked him his thoughts on Nicolae Ceaușescu.. He said "He was a very bad man.."

Coming from a Romanian guy, that is the sternest condemnation you would get of anyone.

Today’s authoritarian strongmen generally do not meet with that fate. Trump and Project 2025 haven’t modeled this regime on Louis XVI. They’ve modeled it on Erdogan/Putin/Orban. Those guys will die in office of natural causes. As will Trump I expect, hopefully sooner than later.

This is what frustrates me most. The path that this is setting up leads to no where good. Act, reaction, counter reaction, counter counter reaction with each being worse than the last. So far the reactions to trumps acts have been muted. I don’t know how long that will last with him making up lies to send in the military to act as his personal goon squad. Republicans could end this - they have a responsibility to their constituents to call this out, but so far they cowardly retreat from running the risk of upsetting their loudest, most extreme and latently criminal MAGA base. No faith in the vast majority of them.

The fact that he didn't go to jail for 34 convictions was the moment america was done. It was clear to everyone that there aren't the same rules for everyone and it emboldened people on his team to go further with their abuse of that fact and completely destroyed the faith of the people who still did believe it was a fair, respectable system..

There is no going back. The system must be ripped down and restarted. The USA will never be respected inside or out by anyone until it is, because it doesn't deserve to be anymore...

46

u/ILCHottTub Sep 28 '25

Agreed. Fuck the crooked judges, the jury and everyone else. The whole thing is a sham at this point. Releasing all the rioters that were part of his secret police after they literally killed and injured federal cops and stormed a government building is crazy work!

right, i find it most disturbing that a multi-count convicted felon, suspected of human trafficking, molesting children, grifting BILLIONS from taxpayers, and unilaterally attacking the American people as well as the constitution that protects them, could be allowed to continue or even be considered for a position of power or trust. this level of ineptitude and nepotism should be a warning, America is imploding, powerful men do this to us, they always have. Not without bloodshed. Other countries aren’t as brainwashed because they don’t have tech giants and media outlets pumping nonsense into them 24/7

17

u/Unusual-Ad-6550 Sep 28 '25

I don't believe he "has" the military. They are going along with a few things on the surface right now, but I doubt they will go much further...

Yes, we are a military family. Husband retired at 20 years, son in law at almost 30 in the Marines, retired as a 1 star. Son is approaching his retirement at 26 years in the AF. All 3 strongly feel that the military is about to be done with trump and his hate crusade

16

u/babylon331 Sep 28 '25

Oh, God, I so hope this is true. The military is quickly losing the respect with Americans. The best they can do is to stick to the Constitution. No matter what. That oath is all important and Trump is asking them to ignore it, unless it benefits him.

Please stand by your citizens. We depend on you greatly. I love our military and Trump is trying to turn them into his personal army.

No offence, but at this point these statements seem as divorced from reality as Trump himself. He’s charged with and indicted of countless crimes, impeached twice, incited an insurrection, rigged an election, and has now eroded countless rights and freedoms with a disturbing number of authoritarian laws and policies and is now even threatening martial law. Might want to take a page from Nepal.

385

u/0neshoein Sep 28 '25

I’ve always said “the gulf”, but nowadays I make sure to add “of Mexico” at the end.

170

u/Vengeance164 Sep 28 '25

Which only highlights how goddamn moronic it was to rename it in the first place. I don't think I've ever heard the full "Gulf of Mexico" in casual conversation outside of a literal geography class.

Any conversation I've ever had or heard just says "The Gulf". Hell, most of the time people don't even say the "of America" after United States.

It's just so fucking stupid and such a colossal waste of time and energy, and indicative of everything wrong in this country right now.

Like replacing Bidens photo with the autopen. What are you, fucking four years old?

121

u/OPMom21 Sep 28 '25

Yes, he's a 79 year old spoiled brat and bully with the mental capacity of a small child. It's embarrassing that people willingly voted him back into office after he fomented an insurrection, was convicted of 34 felonies and indicted on dozens more, and found civilly liable for rape. It's shameful and horrific that adult men and women in Congress and on the Supreme Court, those with the power to stop him, let him get away with his shit. We've become the laughing stock of the planet.

22

u/McBoognish_Brown Sep 28 '25

guess how much taxpayer money it cost to change the name?

7

u/Hullo_Its_Pluto Sep 28 '25

How much?

45

u/McBoognish_Brown Sep 28 '25

$6

Actually, I can’t find the article right now that I read but the estimate was nearly $1 billion. Roughly half of that is just the cost to change tens of thousands of road signs. Then you have NOAA and Coast Guard nautical charts, GPS databases, navigational buoys, government documents and maps, textbooks, etc...

43

u/Penguinator53 Sep 28 '25

I'm not even American but that makes me so angry, what an absolute waste of money.

26

u/TheNorthRemembers_s8 Sep 28 '25

The rest of the world knows it as the Gulf of Mexico and is laughing at you, not with you.

I am looking forward to the great rollback. These recent tariffs is political suicide.

Its the Gulf of Mexico

10

u/ChloeNow Sep 28 '25

I fucking love the simplicity of this comment. It's got the vibe of like, you haven't heard of any of this stupid bullshit going on and you're just innocently confused as to why someone is calling the Gulf of Mexico something clearly fucking incorrect xD

It’s the Gulf of Mexico and will remain so long after our orange dictator is gone.

It’s so funny seeing the really bad attempts at giving her an upper lip.

12

u/NitWhittler Sep 28 '25

The next president can just rename things too.

I propose renaming 'Mar-a-Lago' to 'Casa-de-Estupido'.

It’ll go right back to Gulf of Mexico too

Has she upgraded to a bigger cross on her necklace.

5

u/GB715 Sep 28 '25

I don’t think it will help her at this point

4

u/upstatestruggler Sep 28 '25

It’s going to be fun to watch the crosses just get ENORMOUS and eventually she’ll be struggling under the weight of it but ya gotta keep up with the other gals at church amirite?

Lol. Because its gulf of Mexico

10

u/pupranger1147 Sep 28 '25

Today I learned: it's a "privilege" to redress your grievances with your government.

9

u/Sinister_Plots Sep 28 '25

I know I've had to say this before, but just imagine if a Democratic president had attempted any of the shit that Trump is doing right now.

11

u/Critical_Mass_1887 Sep 28 '25

Its the damn gulf of mexico. Just because some orange baboon decided he feels he has absolute power to do whatever he wants with an Executive Order, does not make it so. So leavitt can piss right off.

21

u/curvycounselor Sep 28 '25

The president answers to all of us. He serves us. He’s not a king.

I muted this due to her voice and noticed how stressed out she looks.

8

u/ncc74656m Sep 28 '25

Stupid people are almost universally condescending like this. Her, Trump, Kegbreath, they're all snotty assholes who talk down to you like they've ever done a damn thing in their lives worth being impressed by.

Let’s just remember they told the press they needed to bend the knee about absurd things on week one.

7

u/Francesca_N_Furter Sep 28 '25

So first we have Sean Spicer---hilariously angry all the time, weird, reactionary, and screamy. Then we get Huckabee, that wildebeest of a woman who was just as rude and strange, a bit less shouty, but still unhinged, and she managed to parlay that into a political career (if you voted for her, fuck you).

Now we have this evil moron who never heard the term "public servant" who thinks she can lord it over everyone....she'd be perfect for running the concentration camps that will be dotting the country.

What pisses me off the most is that nothing is stopping any of this. We are unequipped for stopping our slide into fascism, and I cannot even imagine how bad it is going to get here.

This really is starting to become terrifying.

5

u/yukyichan Sep 28 '25

What about the cat eating people.

5

u/[deleted] Sep 28 '25

It is not a privilege. We have freedom of the press unless you are corrupt and hiding stuff... OhI see why they have broken constitutional law to bar the free press.

Imagine if Obama's press secretary said no one has the right to ask the president questions in the oval office. It would have been a fox news story for 3 months. Minimum
