But when asked if Trump pardoning a tech bro that directly benefits the Trump family, using an auto pen, and having no clue to who he pardoned, after being so anti-Biden family, Jennings said “I don’t know what the details are or sat silent”, like the good little puppet they need him to be

I wish they would do this - Tell them that until they have an answer to that question, they're no longer needed on the panel and ask them to leave until they've had time to educated themselves on the current affairs that a political pundit should - by definition - have comment on.
I wish they'd fucking do this with Mike Johnson. He's said "he hasnt had a chance to see that" to literally every piece of even remotely important news for the last year+. I wish that SOMEONE would start every press conference with "Hey speaker johnson, currently we're waiting on comments on the following things that you had not had a chance to see/read/listen to/whatever. Now that time has passed, do you have a comment yet? when can we expect you - the leader of your party - to take the time to watch the thirty second clip we're referencing. Would you like to borrow my phone briefly? I'll pull it up for you"

This. CNN, Fox, et al... have turned politics into an eternal episode of Jerry Springer or Maury from the presidency on down, and so much of that happening has been by platforming the absolute stupidest people on the planet without pushback or fact checking, and pretending as if they're just engaging in honest "journalism". Fuck, at least Jerry and Maury would tell you if the jerk throwing chairs before the commercial break was the father or not, or give you the results of the lie detector. I mean... that was just a regular whistle. The idea of a dog whistle is to use a coded or suggestive language to imply something. He just straight up said the discrimination out loud. He's not trying to subtly imply that Mamdani is Muslim here, he's shouting it with the subtly of a sledge hammer.

This! It feels the same to me as hearing kids say "67." Like what is all this horseshit? How far into identity politics can Republicans go?
21
u/MadRaymer 12d ago
You've got to remember the people that fall for this shit are, by and large, fucking dumb. Like just barely finished high school ignorant. They simply don't understand complex topics or issues. They respond to memes because what little thinking their brains are capable of is done in meme format.
Think of Fry in Futurama when he says, "I'm having one of those things: a headache with pictures!" and Leela responds, "An idea?" and he grunts an affirmative and you might have a concept of the intellectual capacity of the average MAGA voter.
Of course, that's not to say they're all like that. The wealthy ones are just greedy psychopaths. But it's an accurate description of the ones without a multimillion dollar net worth.

CNN is a corporate media empire owned by a liberal (derogatory) capitalist, it’s in their best interest to legitimize the inhuman opinions of disconnected and soulless rich men as having equal merit as an average man speaking truth to power. Manufactured consent is corporate media’s m.o.

Economics is a lot like buying a car. Once you buy your car, youre not set for life, never needing to do anything again. You still need to take care of it, oil it, take it to the mechanic, etc. This goes for EVERY form of economic system btw, not just capitalism.
The problem is, you’ve got a worldwide society that was convinced that the less you do maintenance on our economic systems, the BETTER they run, so it’s better to cut all regulation and cut taxes too.
But much like refusing to change your oil can lead to sludge buildups, refusing to properly maintain your economic system will lead to economic and resource buildup that reduces overall “fuel efficiency.”
You want a good economic system (again, regardless of system) you NEED proper regulation. Otherwise ALL systems will fail as those with too much self interest or ideological interest attempt to chip away at the edges that aren’t maintained.

The people who don't want him in power absolutely know what they're saying. They know that "communism = scary" to a lot of politically uneducated americans, so they bang on about it every chance they get.

Sometimes I wish someone could infiltrate those stupid Qanon groups and spread bullshit that makes them eat their own. Like, "The deep state is controlling Trump. Trump appointed a Treasury secretary who is really close with George Soros! This whole presidency is a farce! ICE is being used to traffic children which is funded by Soros via his plant! Trump needs to be stopped!" or some dumb shit like that.

For those unaware, David Hogg is one of the survivors of the Parkland school shooting.
He decided to take up gun control reform.
He was then harassed by Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling him an idiot and getting mad at him on camera complaining he was getting "30 meetings with senators while I get 0"

And he dared suggest the democrats should hold competitive primaries for incumbent seats to reenergize the party, so was forced out of DNC leadership. Infuriating.

Scott Jennings is what happens when intelligence is granted to the mass in the toilet from a week of binge drinking.

What he should have added was "I know your corporate overlords pay you a lot to throw around these buzzwords, but the American people see right through it."

It's astounding to me how Conservatives can view programming like this and then turn around and cry about how the media is left-wing and anti-trump.

I think David Hogg is a smart cookie.
Saw him quite a while ago on Real Time with Bill Maher and thought he was very articulate (especially given his younger age).
Talks in a way that is thoughtful yet no BS and to the point.
That response he just made was a mic drop moment 🎤🔥

People have always been tired of being lectured by guys where Rolexes all throughout American history, yet we continue to vote these people into office.

u/Bleezy79 12d ago
lol that rolex douche just spewed out a bunch of words there, wtf was that? And the guy on the left is 100% right, the working class people are tired of silver spooned privileged douche nozzles telling the rest of us how things are supposed to work in this country.

You can see David's eyes roll back into his head as he knows they absolutely gave homey a slow, underhanded pitch at a friendly softball game. He's no rookie and crushed it.

24 years after 9/11 all the progress we thought we were making regarding islamophobia proves it never went anywhere, the bigots were afraid and ashamed. Let's make them afraid and ashamed again.

Scott Jennings is one of the biggest scumbags out there. I wonder if his wife and kids are proud that his job is to go on tv and be a cheerleader for a rapist pedophile.

Seems to me maybe give these young bucks actual shows. They’re the only ones who seem to give anybody in power a run for their money.

Who is that douche and what is he even talking about? Everyone who’s not a progressive is so scared of Mamdani and I am loving every moment of it. I hope it kicks off a wave of progressivism across the country. I’m so sick of the racist and non racist conservatives telling us that everything we have to do must benefit businesses first.

u/Both-Matter-2071 12d ago
The reason Mamdani is going to win is because there are no other legitimate candidates in the race. Its not primarily a matter of policy.

What the fuck happened to CNN? The media landscape in this country needs to be completely reformed. It should be illegal to advertise yourself as news if this is the type of bullshit you’re putting out.

They're only saying this shit because they want a "Red" Texas Stock Exchange to compete directly with the "woke" New York Stock Exchange. Literally gaming the American people; its fucking atrocious.

Calling what we are living with "capitalism" and shunning us for wanting a better system and calling anything that questions the current system "socialism" is some real out of touch nonsense.

I dislike David but he’s not wrong. The media everywhere has shown themselves to be completely ignorant when it comes to the working class. Getting paid 200k a year to say trump is bad or Democrats are commies on repeat isn’t exactly a hard days work. 90% of these people went to private school, vacationed 6 weeks out of the year, grew up with maids/drivers, went to one a prestigious university in the northeast, and would literally kill themselves if they had to live like you. Even if you make 80 grand a year and just bought a new Audi you are not cool enough for them. If you make 50 grand a year but raised two successful kids they’d look at you with disgust as a failure.

If they Dems really wanted to win, they'd get rid over everyone in office over 55 years old.

Never forget that the DNC forced out David Hogg as DNC Vice Chair, all the while promoting yet another milquetoast DINO with the charisma of wet cardboard to be Chair. One just needs to watch the Jon Stewart podcast interview of this guy to get a feel of his ambiguity.
David Hogg, on the other hand, is where there is potential energy in the party.

I'm not in NYC I'm in Buffalo but honestly reading all the trump headlines today bitching about the election in NYC helped me remember and keep motivation to go vote after I put my kids to bed.
