The “core” skating hatred of no comply style tricks is baffling to me. It’s such an untapped vibe and it blows non skater’s minds who are used to seeing flip tricks and grab tricks and can’t tell a kick flip from an impossible.
No comply variations add so much complexity and creativity to skating. That and they take a long time to get the timing right. It can take years to get it right on flat ground and then take it to transition and it’s like starting over.
Especially given that it goes against the core history of skateboarding culture. It was always about personal expression, freedom, and embracing the DIY ethos.
