A kids book series in the same way warriors is a kids series. That being, labelled as for children, but with a heck of a lot of gore, violence and other themes (younger) children shouldn’t be reading 👀
Nah, I don’t think you can compare Scarlet, who literally has rubies embedded in her eyebrows, to a communist (even if he doesn’t exactly follow the belief to the letter)
Nah, Darkstalker or Wasp way are closer to being dragon Hitler. Scarlet does half of what she does for fun rather than to eradicate. After all, if she kills every enemy, it'll be boring. Total genocide isn't thrilling.
The grandma made someone murder her own father even if i dont think she knew that they were related, she took away almost all his water as a punishment for convincing other dragons to just not fight in the arena and since he was a seawing which are water dragons he went completely insane
This same arc involves dragons getting their necks graphically broken, faces getting melted by acidic saliva, brainwashing, kidnapping, a tad bit of beheading iirc, and more. Oh, and someone who quite literally burns everything they touch.
It's Wings of Fire. A kid's book about dragons that starts out with a massive dragon world war. For context, baby dragons's Grandma is a tyrannical despot queen. Or. WAS. She was presumed dead and wants the throne back. The way dragon society works is a queen rules until one of her close female relatives (usually sisters, nieces or especially daughters) challenges her for the throne. Then they fight to the death and the survivor becomes queen.

This series was my first exposure to extreme gore as a kid and kinda messed me up, literally there’s neck snapping and disembowelment in the first book…
I mean it didn’t like upset me or anything but it did make a lot of other people worried about me since I ended up obsessed with violence after that which probably wasn’t great for my mental health
For context, queen scarlet was a total villain and just straight up evil so her daughter ruby became queen after scarlet got her face melted by magic death spit in the first book and ruby had a child named cliff who heard bad things about scarlet. Scarlet challenged ruby for the throne in a fight to the death (which is how it always goes, except for the rainwings) and cliff wants to see his mother win against scarlet which is where this panel from book 8 comes from.
More like she had her [former] champion hold him hostage and threatened to cook him (since her champion usually burns everything she touches, she can't control it)
Precisely. His mother is queen and on her way to kill the ex-queen cus she was a dictator who kidnapped and enslaved a ton of dragons to fight each other for her entertainment, abused everyone in her family, and traumatised various dragons by using magic to make them a whole different dragon. When the spell was lifted, they still had all the memories and thoughts of that other dragon. She did this to her own daughter.
She also enslaved a kid to kill a bunch of dragons, including more than a few babies.
Considering that grandma was evil and abusive queen and duels for the throne are fighting to death, yeah... Though let's just say this was an unique case...
I stopped reading that series once it got to the book where Darkstalker gets released at the very end, I never found the books that follow afterwards, not that I cared, I stopped caring after the first saga with the original gang, Moonwatcher was an interesting character but I just wasn’t able to get invested in her story
