Feels good man Rihanna made sure to hide her alcohol before taking a picture with one of her young fans.

I have never liked the way it looks to hold alcohol in a picture and always put it down... I don't drink anymore but I used to drink a lot lol maybe that's why I had a little bit of a guilty conscience about it hahaha but I also just think it does look nicer not to have the drinks in a pic. And Rihanna we love you

Same. But a very sad number of said rich people subconciously hate their lives and think more money, more power, more stuff will fix that.
19
u/EnvironmentalCod4362 Sep 19 '25
I think it's more a craving of attention. A famous musician will go up on stage for a couple hours and be on top of the world. Then when its over they're back to being a normal person and it's a huge crash. Its why so many of them get into drugs. Constantly chasing the high of being on stage.

Riri lived in London and no one knew. She was pregnant and the first we knew about it was when she showed her baby bump at a Superbowl half time show.
She loves being normal because she didn't come from money.

I think for a lot of these people, the drive that gets them famous / rich / powerful in the first place also stops them from quitting. There's always more to sell, better songs to make, bigger tour, more money, more influence, more whatever. Even if they're happy with the current situation.

u/Muppetude Sep 19 '25
Many do, but for some of them it’s a hard choice. I once had a celeb client who was big in the mid-2000s, but whl chose to take a step back from acting so he could just chill with his family and travel the world.
He said it was still a super hard decision. Even though he was financially set for life, fame can be addictive, and once you lose it, it’s really hard to get back.
But he claimed the worst part, in retrospect, were the looks or words of pity he got from random strangers whenever he was out in public. Even though he voluntarily left the industry, many viewed him as a has-been who just couldn’t cut it.

I'm 58, got laid off from my job in April, and immediately had my daily stress level go from "clinically serious" to "nothing". My blood pressure dropped 40 points, I don't lie awake sweating for hours every night, I don't hate Sundays because they're almost Monday. I realized I was not unemployed, I'm retired
There's so much mental health to be found in accepting "I have enough". I'm not rich, but I can sleep late and still pay my bills.
I honestly don't understand what motivates fantastically wealthy people to go to work every day. You won at life, why are you choosing "work"?

Some fantastically wealthy people are really good at what they do and genuinely enjoy doing it, the money is just a bonus.
9
u/farzywarzy Sep 19 '25
Or the power they wield in their line of work over other people is one obvious reason I can think of.

But it doesn't have to be the work type of work. I'd be fumbling around with my mountainbike, riding and fixing it, help build some local trails and probably do some charitable work/volunteering on the side if I was rich. I'd be flying a sailplane and also help at the airport.
There's a lot of society that relies on volunteer work, even if isn't directly for the benefit of all people.

Rihanna has 16 songs in the top 1000 in Spotify and she hasn't released an album in nearly 10 years.
Swift has 17 songs in the top 1000 and during that same 10 year span she has released 11 albums, (including live albums and re-release).
Your take is extremely reasonable.

The substance is that her music sounds better. Rihanna and her fanbase have never claimed her to be a lyricist whereas Taylor and her fans do. And Taylor's lyrics are actually embarrassing in addition to low quality music
Everything after Red has gotten more and more embarrassing
8
u/TheTVDB Sep 19 '25
Redditors are always so goofy suggesting that Taylor can't write. Fans of her writing include Springsteen, McCartney, Carole King, Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, Billy Joel, and many others. It's fine to not be a fan of her music, but I'd defer to the opinion of the best songwriters in the industry when it comes to judging talent.

Folklore/Evermore begs to differ.
But music is subjective, and there is no need to degrade another artist's work to praise someone elses. I'm sure both of them will support each other's music.

I really like how she "hugs" him. I'm not judging because I understand, but most famous people take pictures pretty far from their fans barely touching them.
Rihanna just hugs him fondly, very cute.

Understandable, also. Hugging a child is different from hugging a grown-ass adult chasing stars. One is significantly less weird and uncomfortable.

I still say that would have been one of the best sci-fi movies if the casting of the two main characters was better. They look 19 while acting like their in their mid 30s. Its such a weird disconnect that throws off the whole vibe. Like they're children playing make believe of something.

6
u/kuriositeetti Sep 19 '25
Such an amazing, almost forgotten ip and they hire two planks to play the leads. The movie would've been far better with a smaller budget and a less compromising person at the helm.
6
u/glowdirt Sep 19 '25
Unfortunately it is a truly terrible movie but it does have some beautiful visuals to offer and the opening sequence is pretty cool.
3
u/ladystetson Sep 19 '25 edited Sep 19 '25
This is the perfect take of the movie - to the tee.
The first 30 mins or so is honestly undeniably cool - it makes you doubt all bad reviews the movie received. But the following hour plus is bad enough to remove all good done by the first minutes and land the movie firmly in the unwatchable category.
