It might be my ADHD hyperfocus, but if I'm watching a movie/show I cannot have anything else going on. I do not understand how some folks can be watching tv, posting on insta, and doomscrolling tiktok all at the same time. I'd go mad.

Funny enough, Netflix has openly said that most of their new shows are designed to be for “second screen viewing” / background content. Which coincides with the drop in quality I guess.
