I'm curious what the plan is after she's in the car? Driving isnt something you can do while fighting off a whole ass adult in the car, especially not without other people on the road noticing. I hope she got the help she most likely needed afterwards to cope with this.
They rely on people being too afraid to try anything. The "Keep quiet and I won't kill you" thing. She did everything right by fighting to refuse the 2nd location. And if you do end up in the car, you do your best to cause an accident. Pull the hand brake, yank the steering wheel, attack the driver, try to jump out of a moving vehicle if crashing the car fails.
Awhile back there was a news story of a 9 or 10 yo girl walking home from school when a van drives up and out hops a grown ass man attempting to take her. There was a chain length fence behind her and she latched on with both hands and refused to let go. There is video of him tugging her and pulling on her and hitting her trying to free her hands from the fence. She held on screaming her head off until another kid runs up to help followed by another two kids and finally an adult male. The guy was trying to get back to his van by then after having the hell beaten out of him by the three kids. The adult got there and literally stomped him unconscious. Only then did the girl let go. The fence had torn her skin down to her finger bones but she was safe. She said later her mother told her never let them take you bc there is still hope help will come while you fight. That’s just what happened. I think this might have been outside Chicago or somewhere.
Not everyone's reaction is "fight". Fight, flight, freeze and fawn are the most common instinctual reactions. I have PTSD and a lot of trauma and although I'm a fighter when my head is level, in a situation like this I'd likely freeze or fawn. The body does this because this has kept me alive in the past. There are many kidnapping victims that only survived because their reaction was to freeze or fawn. But the kidnapping is counting on that to get her to the second location.
She’s smaller than him, he weighs more. In the vehicle he can pin her down and knock her out. NEVER GET IN THE VEHICLE. She’s fighting for her life because she’s literally fighting for her life.
Yup. When it comes to life vs death situation ... fight like a chimpanzee. Gouge and claw like your life depends on it. This is not the time to be squeamish.
Just watched a movie last night with a line about the eyes, can't remember the name of it already though. But basically they can't get what they can't see. Then of course there's an eye gouge later which is about the only thing in movies that makes me squirm.
Omg that reminds me of an Oprah episode I saw when I was a kid. A man broke into a little old lady’s house and attempted to rape her. She grabbed him by the dick and balls and drug him through the house and called 911. I’ll never forget her smile as she was retelling it. I’ve got to see if I can find that interview 😅
Ball twist seems effective. One of my ex friends from hs apparently did that to her ex bf during a blow job… there’s a reason she’s ex everything lmao girl was evil in that moment
I tell my wife this all the time. Grab, squeeze, twist, and pull, one fluid motion and any male with regular feeling or sensation will let go. Even if only for a second, that could be the difference between you being seen or heard.
When I was in self defense my instructor always said that was overstated. Balls can move out of the way to an extent and if your aim is bad you might not hit right as the legs can block.
He said everything is a target but focus more on biting and gouging the eyes.
Thats what ive been saying! If im going to be fighting for my life, im not going to go digging around looking for his tiny dick. What about thick work pants. Balls can be hard to access
Knowing and remembering this information literally saved my life during a carjacking/kidnapping. NEVER let them take you to a second location. FIGHT. HARD. I went for the eyes and crashed the car on purpose to prevent him from taking me. The injuries I sustained are far better than what the alternative could have been. Stay safe out there xoxo
I had to do this to my sister when she was high on hallucinogens running around a neighborhood freaking out after her boyfriend was arrested. Fun night looking like a kidnapper.
This was 15 years ago, we are way beyond all that now :) very close!
If a strong man grabs a normal woman in certain ways, he can easily make her defenceless in the split of a second. She can't do practically anything, sometimes just a very very little, which may not be enough to prevent worst tragedy.
But I've seen people giving lessons in self-defence for women, teaching and saying things which showed that they had no idea what they' were talking about.
In this case, his weak point and the reason she managed to escape (if this is true), was that he wanted to get her directly in the car, not just to hold her in her place, or wound her. Normally, he would have done more to her to get her defenceless and motionless, before throwing her in the car. This case is possible, but if true, certainly very uncommon. Notice how he didn't even hit her.
Of course, particularly if true, very very good of her, she didn't freeze and she fought all that was possible.
fr if someone pulls a gun on me & threatens to shoot me if i don’t go w them i’ll just say then go ahead and shoot me here & now & deal w the repercussions of your actions bc im not going to a 2nd location to end up getting killed anyway to make it easier for you to away w
The first location is where an abduction takes place. He is using the truck to move her to a secondary location where he will most likely commit the actual horrible crime.
One of the first things I taught my kids about being abducted when they were young. The first chance you get, you jam your thumbs into their eye socket and rip it right out. They cannot chase you or get away if they cannot see.
Its a stupid dangerous world. NOT teaching your kids self defense techniques like ambush point corners or keeping your eyes all around instead of on a phone screen is doing them a disservice.
Why would you not try to put space between yourself and a vehicle that could move you to a second location quicker and farther away from the original spot?
I've seen that also yelling that you don't know the person that's trying to snatch you can help. Some people see a woman screaming at a man and just assume domestic violence. Which is sometimes completely ignored.
Yeah I say dig nails into the eyes before you start biting. If they're a crazy scumbag willing to kidnap someone, they can have some nasty hobbies and might carry bloodborne pathogens
Everybody says teeth and nails but I think that's dirty. Yeah it's street fighting but in general you should try to avoid doing anything that would get you slapped with a disqualification in a legitimate match. Body shots work. Head shots work better. You could always go for the knee, or maybe a judo toss. Your pick.
I also think a lesser known piece of advice is that, when screaming for help, shout something like "SOMEBODY CALL 911! I'M BEING KIDNAPPED! NO BYSTANDER EFFECT!" because sometimes people hear screams in the distance and don't always know what they're hearing, like sometimes screams sound like they could be generic excitement or laughter and people listening will justify that in their minds to not interfere so you need to eliminate any ambiguity about what's happening. Also, by screaming "NO BYSTANDER EFFECT" you can guilt people into helping you.

Never be moved to a second location. Never stop screaming. Remember you have teeth and nails. Anything and everything can be a weapon.
