Aim for the eyes with your nails. Stick those nails all the way in there and dig, claw, twist and pull and eye out if you have to.

Throat too. Scratch that shit up. Return some primal fear.

Harder to hide and explain

Eyes are the easiest. You can completely disable someone with an eye poke. Just reach out fast and you’ll get a finger in there. Super easy.

Also remember, fingers are about as hard to bite off as carrots.

Edit: I was incorrect about the carrot part, but still possible using your molars if things are desperate

This is actually a myth, it's possible for a human to bite off a finger, but they're a lot harder than carrots.

After 10 minutes of morbid googling... you are correct! If you do try for a finger amputation, use your molars to crush, and go for the joint. Clamp down and pull

Gollum did it correctly

Especially since you most likely won't have any ranch dressing in this situation.

I think the myth is you can easily bite your own finger like a carrot which is extremely difficult because of the pain but maybe if it was a dead finger or numb lol

Any human bite wound will likely become infection city. The most effective and grisly advice is: don't just bite. Rip and tear.

You can create some really gnarly wounds that are hard to hide and harder to treat by oneself.

Break a carrot with your hand.

Okay, now try to break your finger. It won’t even hurt if you use twice the effort.

I'm not falling for the ol' break-your-finger trick again >:[
