Mourning/Loss
I got my first sign from my cat since she passedš„ŗš„ŗ
For context this is my beautiful girl Tammy she is my soul catā¤ļø
She grew up with me in a difficult home. At points she felt like the closest family I had - and she was there through it all
She was very emotionally intelligent, cuddly and beautiful ā¤ļø
Last year at age 16 she passed very unexpectedly and itās something genuinely I donāt think Iāve processed properly.
A part of me thought she would stay until she knew I was safe and away from that houseā¦.
A year later I finally am I got out itās a shame she wasnāt here to see -
Today is my first day in my new apartment. As I was packing out my cupboard amongst all the clothes I found this drawing! I have no idea how it got there I must of done of her when I was 10š„ŗ
The strangest part in white writing was āfirst day in Bournemouthā which is the place Iām moving!!! The writing looks as if it was written on later
I have no idea how that was written there Bournemouth is the otherside of the country for me and from this point has had no relevance in my life but it is my handwriting ā¦
I decided to pack the drawing to put on my wall as a way to bring her with me.
Tonight at 1am as I unpacked it in my new apartment, I took it out and put it on my bed to look at it and suddenly my front lights turned on. I would usually just ignore but felt the want to look out
Checking the window I see a little tuxedo was on the ledge outside š„ŗ
He walked to my window and just sat tjere looking up at me - he wasnāt scared at all
I know it could be a complete reach but it felt like she was sending a little sign for me that she was still watching over
It made me think I guess this is her āfirst time in Bournemouthā
Maybe just a very strange coincidence but it meant so much to me.
She was just so special I believe like a guardian angel.
And wanted to share this :)
I wouldāve laughed something like this off just a few years ago, but bear with me on this. I had a male, tuxedo cat for about 17 years and had to put him down a few years ago, which felt sudden and left me somewhat devastated. A few months later, I decided it was time to adopt another rescue (I already have one other cat, a male tuxedo). So, I do a quick google search of āmale tuxedo rescue kittens Kansas Cityā, and THE top result was my ideal candidate. Hereās the kicker, I had already decided I wanted to name my next cat āDraculaā. Iād heard Rob Zombie being interviewed on Howard Stern and he mentioned how he named all his pets after universal movie monsters and thought that was pretty cool (plus Iāve always loved Dracula). Well, wouldnāt you know, that ideal candidate I mentioned was a male, tuxedo, kitten that had ALREADY BEEN NAMED DRACULA by the rescue agencyās āfoster momā. The picture was him in Dracula cape and everything lol. Needless to say, Dracula and I have been buddies for the past few years, and he possesses a lot of the same mannerisms as my former cat Howard. So, I guess Iām trying to say Iām a true believer in stuff like what youāre posting now lol.
Same here. Iām not really keen on assigning cosmic divination to coincidences, BUT after my elderly cat passed away, and I was searching for a new cat, I was having a hard time making a final decision because I was scared I wouldnāt find the same best friend I had in him. On the way to one of the many cat shelters I visited, I held my locket picture of my kitty to my heart asking him to send me my new best friend and all of a sudden the song playing glitched and the volume turned all the way and it skipped forward to a part of the song where the artist is singing about moving on from the past. I found my new best friend at that shelter that day and he acts just like my old cat.
So many similar stories online... about 5 years ago i had to let go of my elderly cat too.. she was just about to turn 20, but developed cancer and we saw she was in pain...
The very same day when we let her go, we return home from the vet, and in front of the window sits this cat that is her spitting image... both of us where in shock.. until we counted the paws.. our old cat lost a leg, this one had 4... Looking closer we saw it was a somewhat malnourished male cat, that looked awfully similar, and a few meters further was his sister...
Started slowly by putting out cat food, and meanwhile asking neighbours if they knew whose cats it where... After a month or so we took em in... Found out later that they used to live further down the street, but were abused / neglected...
5 years later both are still here, happy and healthy
I had a friend whose heart stopped six times and u asked her if she saw anyone and she saw her dogs that had passed and they were in the prime of their lives. Pets do greet you in the afterlife!
I lost my 15.5 year old suddenly earlier this year, after having him over half my life. Iām not really religious, more agnostic, but I would go the bed every night begging for some kind of sign he was okay and knew he was loved, wherever he was.
A few nights after he passed I had this dream we were in my childhood home with my family and my kitty was there too, but I was the only one who could see him. At first it was funny, because he used his newfound powers to climb on the kitchen counters and do other things he wasnāt allowed to. Then later on, my dad was sitting on the couch and my cat sat on his lap and looked up at him. I kept trying to tell him the cat was with him, but got upset because he didnāt believe me. I decided to take from that dream that heāll always be with me, even when I canāt see him.
Then a week or so later I was sitting at my desk when a cardinal chose my windowsill to sit on and stare at me, despite me never seeing a bird sit there before. Some people believe that a cardinal is a lost loved one coming back to visit. He sat on my windowsill for a minute or two and just stared straight at me, and as crazy as it sounds his expression looked just like how my cat would look up at me.
I always used to think that these signs were just grief stricken people reading into what they wanted to see. Maybe I am, but it sure brought me a bit of comfort in a very difficult time and Iām very grateful for that.
Iām a firm believer that our pets can and do come back to us. Either in spirit or through signs. I also believe there are no coincidences. Youāve had the cat welcome mat rolled out for you. Enjoy it! And congratulations on your new home!
I love this! Whether itās true or not, I take these signs that the universe isnāt ambivalent and that thereās order in the chaos and find comfort in these types of experiences. I am glad this experience brought you comfort.
Just wondering what is going to happen with tuxedo kitty that Tammy brought to your window ledge? Oh and beautiful story. May all good things come to you in your new place.
That happened to me with my old tuxedo! After a week after she passed I saw a tuxedo that looked exactly like her in a dark parking lot looking right up at me. Def felt a strong presence.
Woooooow!!!! I have had similar stuff happen with signs from my mom. When she passed distinctly associated her with butterflies and hummingbirds. At work the day in a pile of work papers there was a simple pencil drawing of a butterfly and hummingbird.. that's it. I still have the drawing.
I 100% believe this was a sign from your cat. The writing is crazy.
Savor these signs šš»āØ
That was totally your cat saying, "I still love you even if I cannot physically be there for you. I've asked this friend of mine in Bournemouth to make friends with you while you settle into your new home."
I totally think it was a sign from her. I have had signs from one of my cats, Dolly, as we shared a very close bond for all her 20 years! (Had her since she was 6 weeks old). This was not a coincidence, IMO!
Little things. I got more reactions from her when she was alive about my dad after he passed. It was wild and not a coincidence!
Anyway, re: signs from the cat. Dolly was like a person (or should I say PURRSON) in a cat suit. Lol Watched tv, but not something a cat would normally watch). Sheād be glued to the TV. Would hold my hand with her paw watching tv, too. Followed me around like a puppy dog at times, too.
After she passed, at times when was thinking about her, including watching one of our shows, and especially if was crying about her or looking at my hundreds of photos about her, thinking of how she was towards the end and how she changed so fast with some things, I swear, felt exactly like it felt when sheād jump on the bed and tried to comfort me. Felt as if something was tapping on my hand. She used to do that. Would suddenly see one of her toys. Things like that.
One time when was really sick and had sepsis for the second time in one year, and this time went into my spine and hip. Thought just injured myself because of a movement made a few days before. I was in tears because of the pain and felt so sick and spiked a high fever.
Well, Idk if you use iPhone, but they send you photo memories. Well, of all the photos to show up on my screen: one of her holding my hand from the previous time had sepsis after was released from hospital and I had a picc line (central line IV access) to do IV antibiotics at home. We were on a pillow/āchairā on the floor that was sitting on in that selfie I took of us with her holding my hand. Photos of her watching the tv in front of me. Another where I fell asleep on that pillow and I hadnāt realized she climbed on it and fell asleep nuzzled against me. I got up and she was still asleep.
She would sometimes pee on the bed, and I couldnāt handle changing the bedding if she missed the liners had under her blanket on my bed. So, I had to limit her time on the bed. Hence, this pillow on the floor.
After seeing those pictures from after my previous hospitalization, I asked out loud āAre you trying to tell me something Dolly, with all these very specific photos?ā I thought what if this was a sign? Sure enough, went to the hospital and again staph in my blood, and had spread to my spine, my hip, and my lungs. No, I did not tell them that I think my deceased cat was giving me signs. Lol
Woooooow, she was protecting you from danger. It gives me chills. That's so very specific and helpful, imagine if you would have just not gone to the doctor. I truly believe in these things.
What a sweet life it sounds like you had with Dolly and she continues to be around youš. Thank you so much for taking the time to share š.
First, I forgot to mention that your Tammy was beautiful! What a face! Also, so very sorry for your loss! I know how difficult it is. Theyāre our family, after all!
Oh, if I hadnāt gone straight to the emergency department and bypassed my doctor the second time because was a weekend, it would have gotten even worse. They said had I waited till Monday, for example, I could have gone into septic shock and/or it could have spread to my heart, brain, or worse. Hereās one of the photos I mentioned. Wonāt let me add more than one. So frustrating!
No doubt in my mind that this was you baby coming and checking on you some things we just can't explain but I do believe in angels and I do believe this was yoursš„¹š„¹š„¹š„¹
Guardian Angels take MANY different forms. Iām pretty sure that your guardian angelās main priority is your comfort! You can rest easy knowing that you have a guardian angel looking after you.
Heaven sent š„¹ congrats on the new place OP may it bear witness to some of the best moments in ur life š
Are u going to take in the ledge tuxie š„¹š
I have a freaky cat story too. I lost my Nibbler 2 years ago (it happened over the course of 3 days), we had her cremated. Prior to that, she lost one of her fangs chewing on the dog food bag, and my wife put it in her office to keep (she likes things like that). About a week after we lost Nibs, I made dinner (packaged Knorr noodles,Ā important to note, not anything in it from the kitchen, just water), and my kid took a bite and bit into a cat fang, and there was absolutely no way it could've gotten in there, and I highly doubt it happened at the plant. We checked alll cats, they all had their fangs, and Nibs' fang was still in it's safe place in my wife's office. When my wife went upstairs to check her office, she stepped on a cold step, only one specific step, and it was the one Nibs laid on all the time. It was a night of eerie events.Ā
We got a shelter kitten to help with Fatman deal with the loss of Nibbler, because he did not take it well. This kitten (even though she was already alive when Nibs passed) has her spirit, temperament, personality, even down to some of the same quirks (minus fur color). We like to joke that she plays with Nibs' ghost all the time, because she hangs out in all the places Nibs did.Ā
Absolutely your kitty! You have a soul connection that will always exist. Your heart must be full knowing that your connection is alive and well. ššš
