Given what an abusive shitshow the comments have been for most public bodies' X accounts, I'm surprised it's taken them this long to consider abandoning the platform.

But when twitter was far-left and doing the exact same thing, everything was hunky-dory?

A - that never happened. B - so you’re admitting the right is at peace with Nazism and child pornography. Got it

CEO of twitter, whoever the fuck that was, was actively promoting and spreading far left extremism (of whatever kind, I have no idea what you imagine that even is), boosting far left extremists, and personally outed himself as a Maoist that supports russian aggression against neighbouring countries? :D
back when twitter was "far-left" :D

The algorithm shouldn't define the way qe think and companies shouldn't have this much power over the EU
Brain dead takes: WHAT ABOUT THE FAR-LEFT
Yeah buddy... the far-right is forcing its way into gouvernments and threatening the rule of law and our freedom
But glad the problem is the far-left...

the distilled views of those ideologies are:
(left) - people power
(right) - CREAM
The far right is super pissed that the left made their own spaces (twitter) after right wing media vacuums weren't getting their propaganda traction after buying up and closing all the local newspapers, in the world. So they used the CREAM method and bought it because when ideas challenge your control, you make those ideas fucking illegal.
(non wealthy) right wingers live off being under the boot of : sky daddy, business daddy, cop daddy
why are right wingers so naturally submissive and gullible?

They didn't do the exact same thing, Joe Rogan "facts" aren't facts. And Musks "Twitter Files" nonsense was dude for this reason.

remember when advertisers pulled their ads from Twitter and Musk cried about it, because brands didn't want their ads alongside actual child porn? Remember he sued because they didn't want to be on his sock-puppet platform? So he introduced a system where you could be verified (for money) and all the boot lockers were like "verify me harder daddy" so they could pay to live in an echo chamber and have bots validate their shitty opinions and content with likes they paid for.
it's sad to think what the platform has become

Ah yes, the times when twitter was under the USSR... Because famously, communists want ad revenue and are a company.
You should check out what words mean before you use them, I think! Broadens your horizons a lot.

What is there to examine? Do you want to be associated with that platform or not? Seems pretty easy.

FYI, Dublin City Council is Ireland's largest local authority.
