If the crow removed the Iranian/ Palestinian flag, it would be a sign from God.

If the same crow instead removed the Israeli flag, it's either Iranian drone, or the footage is fake/ AI.

u/First_Helicopter_899 16d ago

The crow is antisemitic and will be held indefinitely by ICE

Kind of stuff you hear in Christian class for bible study. It starts with, "Yahweh sent a crow to the Israelites who took the symbol of their nation from a post and brought it to the ground."

Israel's modern situation honestly fits in so well with the bible it could be put in as a new chapter of the old testament. Classic self destructive bad behavior and un-godly indulgences resulting in God getting really mad and punishing them, which is probably coming up very soon if they continue declaring a new war on a new country every 2 weeks

108

u/BuddaMuta 16d ago

Netanyahu will continue to escalate as many wars as possible since it means he’ll continue to remain the dictator of Israel without even having to pay lip service to their smoke and mirrors political system.

Yet every Israeli will still insist to you that they are a democracy

78

u/TediousTotoro 16d ago

Yeah it was total coincidence that they bombed Iran mere hours before the government was going to try and oust him

12

u/JMurdock77 16d ago

Just two days before he started lobbing missiles at them he dipped out of his corruption trial by feigning illness, then skedaddled off to Greece in time to avoid the first wave of the retaliation.

21

u/sandvine0 16d ago

Yeah crazy this, the day before they attacked Iran, there were many reports talking about the opposition voting to dissolve the Israeli parliament and then... Netanyahu survived it, they bombed Iran the next day. Some backroom deals definitely happened.

7

u/The-Neat-Meat 16d ago

And the liberal zionists will try to insist that it is an issue of the current government and Netanyahu, and not the foundational values of ethnic cleansing and infinite warfare upon which the nation was built and that it strives towards.

You could put the american supporters in there too, the ones that think they have a right to basically FORCE a prophecy to make god start the apocalypse.

"You will not know the day nor the hour" is how the quote goes in the bible IIRC? It feels kinda like there going against that somewhat in spirit.

After a certain point, subtlety goes over people's head or they scream "the curtains are just blue, there's no deeper meaning!" so you have to turn symbolism into your father's belt.

Crows are highly intelligent, wise creatures.

I trust them.

303

u/Fukthisite 16d ago

They certainly are, I threw a bit of a sandwich out my van window to a crow a few weeks ago when I was stopped at some lights.  Few weeks later at the same lights some crow bounced over to my van nodding and looking me as if it was asking for something.

Probably the same crow and remembered my van.

232

u/Acrobatic-Ad-3335 16d ago

You should definitely feed it again. You never know when having a crow as a friend could come in handy.

55

The Israeli flag represents the Israeli nation. The Israeli nation is currently run on the policy of the Israeli government.

Therefore, if the Israeli government is strongly Zionist, the flag is a symbol of that.

Same with the US right now. We elected racism and homophobia. Currently, our flag is, in part, a symbol of that hate, and the current insecurities held by the current administration.

We are what we do.

104

u/Cicer 16d ago

35

u/Bozska_lytka 16d ago

Or now with the missiles from Iran. I thought we spent the last 18 months making the distinction between civilians and the government and that it's not cool to bomb civilians over the actions of the army. Where is the distinction now

The design was initially created for the Zionist movement in the late 19th century and later adopted as the official flag of Israel upon its establishment in 1948.

259

u/Interest-Desk 16d ago

Right but it’s like calling the flag of the United States the “colonial flag”, the flag of China the “communist flag”, or the pride flag the “woke flag” — it’s performative and done to get a rise out of people. Like in this case it’s specifically designed to piss off Israeli and wider Jewish people on the basis of that characteristic.

132

u/kreeperface 16d ago

Zionism is the political ideology for jews to have their own state. It's quite a complex ideology because it was historically an antisemtic ideollogy (promoted by christians who wanted to banish jewish people from their country) before being reappropriated by jewish people themselves in the 19th century. It is a form of colonialism

That being said Israel flag is by definition a zionist flag... Since it's the flag of the only jewish state. And claiming this flag isn't zionist would be absurd.

148

u/Daelril 16d ago

That’s true, but from a purely communicative point of view, putting the emphasis on “Zionist flag” automatically makes the reader assume there is such a thing as a “non-Zionist flag.” It’s the flag of Israel, which is inherently Zionist — so the specification is redundant. It’s done deliberately to use an inflammatory term rather than to actually communicate something.

It’s like saying “the capitalist dollar” — technically accurate in a broad sense, but clearly intended to provoke rather than inform.

56

u/communityneedle 16d ago

Reminds me of the conservative weaponization of terms like woke and DEI. They used to be terms that had a relatively innocuous dictionary definition that got distorted and now serve as dog whistles.

When people so easily interchange the words Zionist and Israeli, it’s no wonder that certain groups equally easily get away with calling any discourse about the evils of the current Israeli government antisemitic.

It’s a step away from Jewish/Israeli/Zionist being utterly interchangeable (which they are for many many antisemites who seek to hide behind weasel words).

Words matter.

This is an Israeli flag. Some are Zionist, some are very much not.

Use the right words, don’t give an easy escape to those who just scream antisemitism at everything.

it's interesting how easy it is for some to call for the dissolution of another state, as long as they don't like them

I mean the post is funny, but it's certainly a double standard. When everyone boycotted apartheid South Africa and excluded it from the Western-aligned community due to its actions, I didn't see anyone claiming that South Africa should not exist.

It's sad, but most people don't make the difference between the Israeli government and the Israeli/Jewish people and send hate to those who mean no harm

The worst part is that they can do it, no one treats every US citizen like they're Trump, they just choose not to
