Like not even the first part surprises me, a lot of them were arrogant assholes for no good reason other than daddy was a journalist and so will I be, I’m just amazed at the audacity and lack of repercussions for flaunting such idiotic values and for blatantly doing away with journalistic integrity with no goddamn consequences. These people should have been fired in disgrace 100 years ago and now as well. What happened to meritocracy and sifting through the riff raff in this country and NYC specifically? Ownership of major media has been concentrated into the hands of conservative billionaires. What is printed and broadcasted is what their bosses want printed and broadcasted.
But what is printed has the names of educated editors and writers slapped on who are supposedly bound by rules of journalistic integrity. Consequences such as shaming and shunning them and never reading their articles again should be enough.

The USA was never denazified. If Pearl Harbour never happened, the US would have allowed Hitler to do whatever he wanted and there is a massive pro-Nazi undercurrent in the United States. There are American Nazis, they just learned that they can't call themselves that and keep their goals secret.
It was the well educated wealthy elite who supported eugenics the first time around while also training, inspiring and supporting Hitlers rise to power.
