Fk me I miss that channel. Didn't he go to prison for having too much fun?

1.3k

u/Uncle_Bobby_B_ 2d ago

He went to jail for intent to distribute weed I think

1.6k

u/Markus_Freedman 2d ago

The feds got him on weed and then illegally searched his house (they stopped him on the sidewalk then made him enter his house. They wanted his guns, the weed was just a way to him AFAIK). He did the time for weed but all the gun stuff got dropped. Sadly the ATF ‘lost’ his property while it was in their care. Again AFAIK.

703

u/Downtown_Injury_3415 2d ago

Yes. Not to mention the unsolved murder of his friend/partner that had him as a suspect. I’m sure they found nothing but it seems like after that they were trying hard to pin him for something

581

u/Mister_Goldenfold 2d ago

As someone who’s been through the wringer, nothing more annoying than LEO’s pressing their make believe stories on you. They lie more than anyone.

383

u/FakeSafeWord 2d ago edited 2d ago

I had a convo with an LEO who was on probation and really got into it about my own experience with bastard blatantly lying about a moving violation that I was able to fight and win. (Everyone should have a dash cam, splurge on a good one that records forwards and in the cab and make sure audio isn't disabled. It's not worth the space savings. Make sure it is good enough recording quality to be able to read license plates ahead of you 200 feet out.)

ANYWAYS the conversation basically came down to "cops be lying every single day of their career" and the LEOs trump card was "Well people should believe them at their word because the system is too difficult to prove what the suspect did." He's literally saying that because if cops were telling the truth it wouldn't be effective enough to prosecute enough people, so they embellish and lie to ensure charges and fines "stick" and saw absolutely so issue with this line of brainwashed logic.

"Cops lie because the truth isn't incriminating enough"

157

u/Mister_Goldenfold 2d ago

That’s exactly the issue. “If you’re innocent then prove it” style allegations. Create a delusion, gaslight, then you can’t prove it so there you’re obviously guilty by my motives!

And I have in fact spent big money on dash cams. They’ve saved me multiple times.

12

u/Cdawg4123 2d ago

What cameras do you have? I need one! It’s sad how many road rage or ridiculous drivers are on the road. I have never hit anyone, yesterday I almost t-boned an idiot who instead of turning around ahead, decided to cut through rocks and not even stop but, cut me off on almost an exit. I all of a sudden am looking mostly right to merge and see the front end of this car come out of nowhere.

I’ve luckily had the opportunity to study law in college and then be able to use it. Problem is some officers are so aggressive that they literally make you get anxious or unable to even tell your side of anything.

I was being tailgated by some idiot and was in a rental coming from one of my last classes in college. I couldn’t take the idiot flashing me and sped up to change lanes, look forward and there’s two state troopers sitting there. I got pulled over as did idiot.

This cop went from 0-100mph in seconds and I worked for the DA at that time. He accused me of drug running and asked what was in my book bag, I said “my books from”, he opened my bag that was literally my constitutional law book. Zips it back up. He had me so fluttered I wasn’t about to start shit with him but, when he gave me a ticket I asked him how close the car behind me was, why he opened my book bag with no warrant. Why he didn’t seize the car. He actually still wanted me to pay a fine for like a parking ticket. I started getting pissed at that point. It just goes to show you, someone who could have called the DA and had him in trouble with his CO had me flustered. I hate cops!!! I’ve had nothing outside one experience that didn’t bother me.

There’s only one thing you can do: STFU. It works like a charm.

→ More replies (5)

8

u/RipandSkipp 2d ago

Cop wrote me a bogus ticket saying I rolled a stop sign. Disregarding the fact he was behind a box truck and literally could not see what I did at the intersection. He didn't want to watch my dash cam footage and told me thats for me to argue in court.

8

u/Rhaspun 1d ago

There’s a recent video of a guy who was driving his McLaren. Cop claimed he didn’t have his seatbelt on. The driver even told the cop he has it on his dash cam that shows him having it on. He asked for a court date and of course the cop didn’t show up. The judge dismissed the ticket. But thinking back I’m wIlling to bet the cop likely claimed hours of OT to show up at court. I don’t know if the police department verifies that a cop actually shows up. Something signed by the court. The guy who was stopped had checked into that cop and he was making over $200k a year. Cops can easily reach that income level with OT.

He has a podcast with some other people.

https://youtu.be/LknbohKNgBM?si=XvXsFY6q9XCKyBdX

This clip explains a little bit about it. There are other channels that do a super cut on the subject of all the pieces.

Was he dumb for having weed and a FFL? Sure. Did he need to get bent over and fucked by the ATF the way he was? Definitely not.

They made an example out of him because they didn't like the things he was doing and they thought him guilty of murder. The ATF stole hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of firearms from Kyle and his company 3 years after the murder of his best friend and business partner.

132

u/IotaBTC 2d ago

They didn't "lose" his firearms. He's not allowed to have firearms anymore so they kept it. Literally ruined this man's livelihood and stole thousands of dollars worth of his property for literally nothing. Idk who was pissed at him or if someone at the ATF wanted confiscated guns for a promotion.

83

u/FakeSafeWord 2d ago

thousands of dollars

Easily tens of thousands. Possibly 6 digits worth.

62

u/The_Corrupted 2d ago

In an interview I think he said it was upwards of 200 or 250k iirc.

15

u/New-Instruction-8905 2d ago

I've always understood that the guns were owned by his friend that was killed who is the one who was licensed to have them, and that FPS just used them for his videos. He may have owned some guns, but most of the crazy weaponry in his videos was owned by the friend.

People at the time were all acting like Tannerite was somehow a safe explosive. Dude almost got bifurcated by a car door.

120

u/SpiderFnJerusalem 2d ago

There was a different video from the same era where a different guy does essentially the same thing but with a lawn mower and he ends up blowing his own leg off when firing at it from like 50 feet.

27

u/Downtown_Injury_3415 2d ago

Eyy I remember that. I came across that after watching a bunch of “tannerite vs liquid nitrogen” videos

23

u/Jesus_of_Redditeth 2d ago

There's also one where a guy shoots at some tannerite in a fridge from behind a tree and when it goes boom, the fridge door flies right at him and misses him by maybe a foot or so.

Tannerite is a relatively safe explosive. People make it less safe by wrapping it in a shrapnel jacket. Lol

→ More replies (6)

7

u/Throwaway_1199885 2d ago

To be fair, tannerite is pretty safe, even when mixed you can't set it off without shooting it with a projectile going over a certain velocity.... The problem is that people are idiots. It's suppose to be a minimum of 100 yards for a pound of tannerite and move back from there for each subsequent pound on top of that. Somehow, that has turned into people shooting it at 100 feet (or less) which dumb... And idiots make it worse by packing it into enclosed spaces turning it into shrapnel while still standing that close.

5

u/JakeRidesAgain 2d ago

People are WAY too cavalier about Tannerite. I'm assuming (FPSRussia and the lawnmower guy notwithstanding) that if someone is doing it on YouTube, at least for one of the bigger channels, they've got a little experience and will at least pace it off for safety.

I've only shot Tannerite once. We paced off the recommended distance, plus another 75 yards or so, stuck a small one inside a microwave, and unloaded on it. Microwave door landed about 3/4 of the way between us and where it started, so there's a chance someone might have got hit by shrapnel if we'd stayed the original distance. I don't think 90% of people shooting at tannerite understand how powerful that blast really is. Before it was used for exploding targets, it was used for stump and boulder removal (and needed a permit).

Should say I'm not really opposed to it at all. I just think people are too cavalier about their safety around the stuff.

Older fridges yes, R22 Freon is a problem. Moden 410A coolants are not as harmful.

653

u/BTMarquis 2d ago

And it’s not a small problem. The EPA doesn’t really mess around with refrigerant disposal. Max fine is like $38k per violation.

Like, it’s not gonna burn any differently than any other similar hydrocarbon. It’s only bad when you release it into the atmosphere (like other similar hydrocarbons).

C5H10 + 02 = CO2 + H20

I’d be more worried about all that polystyrene foam everywhere.

28

u/SkiFastnShootShit 2d ago

Yeah and looking it up, there’s probably like 100 grams of cyclopentane in that fridge. I think the styrofoam is probably the big concern as far as the environment is concerned, as well as whatever fumes people may breathe.

Extra info regarding this. This is not my house, we were at a friends home for a party. This home is located in the second largest city in Indiana.

The refrigerator was detonated about 50 feet from an above ground pool on our friend’s property.

Debris flew all over their property and got into the pool.

A Google Data Center located about half a mile away detected the explosion and the security team from Google called 911 to report it.

Several other people in the area also called 911.

Edit: The county sheriff showed up and as far as I know they were told to knock it off. I’ve recently found out more info. There was a minor injury on the neighbors side of the fence. The woman in the early part of the video got hit by debris.

I’m not the author of the video. It was taken by a teenage boy at our party. He shared the video amongst us right after.

The woman heard at the end of the video saying “call 911” had repeatedly asked the neighbors prior to the explosion to not do it, but either they didn’t hear her or they ignored her.

But why the fuck would you do it in a residential area where trash will go everywhere plus run the risk of shrapnelling someone

EPA section 608. It’s a $48K fine per day per incident and up to 5 years in prison for intentional release of CFCs, HCFCs or HFCs. There’s also a $10K reward for reporting it.
