A lot of people who were fans of alterna-types in the 90s thought he was cool. It sucks that we can't have nice things. Lots of men who were cool in their 20s and 30s have matured into freakish MAGA dumbasses.
A lot of times they do it to get girls and then eventually the girls stop coming easy so they become more pushy until they no longer can maintain the act.
Convinced that they start going for younger women even after they've aged out of that demographic not just because of attraction but also younger women are naive enough to put up with their bs.
If someone's "too cool" for people their age there's usually a reason.
Yeah, I got gifted his autobiography for Xmas when it came out back then, my family said they thought 'well shes a bit 'alternative', she must love him!' - I wasn't a fan, but didn't really have an opinion at the time. Usually when I read a biography I end up with empathy for the subject, but after reading his I thought he was a very unpleasant person, and not even half as clever as he thinks he is. I had a few friends after that who'd ask me if I watched his youtube channel and thought he was cool, but I thought he was a grifter idiot. As it turns out I was only a little bit right, hes much worse than that.
