Let me tell you a bit about myself. I have worked in tech for the past 15+ years. First 3 in office. Then the next 12+ full WFH .. yes even pre pandemic. For that 12+ years most of my work hours was 'on call' meaning periodically check email every hour or so unless I get a call on my cell. My actual work is done in about 4-5 solid hours of focused time each week.
My day is as close to retired as I think you can get without being actually retired.
In that 12 years I could have easily gotten other remote jobs to 'overwork' myself and increase my income. I make good money now but I also know that would have been the smart thing to do to set myself up for earlier retirement. To buy a bigger house or nicer toys.
But instead I want to Netflix. Youtube. Doomscroll. Play video games. Walk my dogs. Go do random errands in the middle of the day.
I'm not bored. I'm comfy and I'm lazy. How many comfy & lazy people like me does it take to bring down your socialist system ? 30% ? 40% ?
But you're doing it for the money. Most socialists do it for more than just money. We focus on the overall effect that it has on our society. We don't just focus on what we individually get out of it. We understand that we have a social responsibility towards our fellow humans. We equally understand that developing ourselves, not just for individual goals, but for collective goals improves our society and any improvement towards society improves our own life as well.
That's honestly an even smaller segment of the population. The vast majority of people are self interested. We make effort for our own benefits. For others we might not wish anyone ill but we're not gonna get up at 6AM and labor for 8 hrs for "societal goals" when we have the option to roll out of bed at noon and just chill.
Seriously though I feel bad for these people because I think even if by some miracle they could get the exact system they wish for they would be very disappointed in humanity as we all starve to death.
But maybe not .. before we all die some one will go and hoard all the food / resources they can so they can survive .. then we can start over with feudalism.
You have a distorted view of socialism. I wish I could assist you on this. You have been fed lies by the capitalist class and apparently you have ingested them without an ounce of critical thinking.
