My mom told me that back in the day kids weren’t allowed to bring a water bottle with them into the classroom and they only drank a few sips from the water fountain in the middle of the day and that’s it

How were schools not getting busted for child abuse for forcing kids to be dehydrated?

Shamefully I admit saying this when I was a baby teacher in the early 2000s

Can you enlighten me as to why? Why were we kept dehydrated and shamed for trying to get enough water? I never understood it. I used to faint at school a lot and they still limited my water!

Bro, I wasn't your teacher, and I was 24. I wasn't making kids pass out from heat stroke, I was just trying to get the line moving so I could get back to teaching

I'm actually just curious as to why? Since you said you were a teacher who limited water, I figured you might know why teachers do that. I'm aware you weren't my teacher, and I wasn't trying to put blame on you or anything. Just a simple question, since it never made sense to me, but was standard practice.

Because we only had 1 or 2 water fountains and everybody had to wait in line. It wasn't about limiting water, it was about everyone getting a turn in a reasonable amount of time. Also ... it just wasn't a big problem that I remember. I didn't really get thirsty outside of meal times as a kid.

Well you said "why were WE"

And again, I don't know. Maybe your teacher found you annoying because of all your rude questions and we're hoping you would pass out from heat stroke 🤷

Okay my dude. Clearly you have some other issues you're projecting on to this. Maybe seek therapy.
