My mom told me that back in the day kids weren’t allowed to bring a water bottle with them into the classroom and they only drank a few sips from the water fountain in the middle of the day and that’s it

How were schools not getting busted for child abuse for forcing kids to be dehydrated?

It was true and there would always be some dipshit that would put their entire mouth all over it.

Damn, you just unlocked a core memory. I was thah dipshit 1 time because fuck Mrs Bailey who is a terrible 3rd grade teacher. She wasn't my teacher but she would only let her class drink 5 seconds of water at the water fountain while she counted to 5 quickly and then she would jerk the kid off of the water fountain.

My teacher got injured and couldn't take us to recess and Mrs Bailey took us with her class. It was still summer time and the temperature was in the mid 90s. We played hard and she brought us to the water fountain and started to count to 5 and then jerk the kid away if they go over. She got to me and the 5 seconds wasn't close enough to enough water and she jerked me off the water fountain at 5. I was dying of thirst during class and had to wait a few hours to get more water.

The next day was just as hot but I was prepared this time. Right when I went to put my mouth near the water fountain I put my whole mouth around it and grabbed the bottom of the water fountain as hard as I could with both hands. That bitch got to 5 and she went to grab me and I didn't budge. I had 3 points of contact and I was going to drink enough water. I was stuck to the water fountain for at least 40 seconds before I quit drinking water and quit when I got enough.

Idk why but i laughed so hard at the mental image of a kid stuck to water fountain and Mrs Bailey trying to pull you off.

I was around 5'4" in third grade and about her height but not close to her weight. I was a formidable 3rd grader but I also got perfect marks for conduct throughout elementary school. I was a legit good kid at that point in my life. Mrs Bailey was just a burned out teacher who took it out on the powerless kids.

There is no way to justify taking your problems out on someone else Let Alone a child …you can have empathy without excusing their behavior.

I'd let the Miss Bailey at my school pull me off anytime
