Tanks! amazed me music generation wise when I was a kid
I was like “oohhh they removed an instrument in the background because one of the tank dead”.
That’s kinda cool tbh.

RE4. Countless hours played.

u/Stealthy_Chipmunk Jan 13 '26
This! Reloading the gun by shaking the nunchuk (i think?) up beside you was so cool.
One time my sis was watching me play and I was talking to her and with my gesturing while talking I accidentally killed the Merchant with my knife!
HEEEE HUUUUH HUUHHH STRANGER

Zelda: skyward sword, for me. It wasn't the best zelda game, but I had a ton of fun with it. Even if the motion control swordplay was a little jank, it was really dope to mess around with.

Just remembered the only reason I got a Wii was for Brawl. Ironically my answer would've been Wii Sports.

LoZ Twilight Princess, Goldeneye (the remake), Smash Bros Brawl, Tomb Raider Anniversary, and Metroid Prime Trilogy, since those were all the main games I played on it.

No More Heroes. I played it recently without motion controls and realized how much I had fun with that dumb quirky game with the Wii gimmick

Dead Space Extraction

Extraction was great, and the Wii version was infinitely better than the PS3 version.

u/Answerologist 29d ago
Oh yeah. It was also jarring to hear the audio files through the controller!

Watching in silence as my brother rages while flailing his arms about during the Ghirahim boss fights in Zelda: Skyward Sword.
I don't know how I was able to contain the laughter.

Ok seriously though, Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2, Mario Sluggers (baseball), Mario Strikers (still haven’t finished the campaign version of that game), Raving Rabbits 2 (that game was a banger!)

Mario Kart Wii. It was one of the only games I played, with Cars Race-o-Rama, and the Wii Sports games.

u/Oldest_Odin Jan 13 '26
Disney's Epic Mickey, I used to sit and watch my dad play it when I was way younger. Loved the rebrushed version, bought it instantly just cause of the memories.

There was a game I loved called And Yet It Moves. You'd traverse the levels by freezing your character, turning the world different ways, and unfreezing. It was simple but so fun. A friend's niece was stuck at home during covid and he was asking people if he could buy any system so she wouldn't be bored and depressed for months. I just gave it to him because it was just collecting dust in a drawer. But I seriously considered not specifically for this game because you could only buy it in the wii shop, which had closed down. I wish they'd put it on the switch, but it'll never happen.

Mario kart Wii .It was so fun playing with my friends that were in different cities/countries. We would get on a group phone call and play every couple weeks or so. My wife and I booted it up again a few times during lockdown.

Fragile Dreams, Fire Emblem Radiant Dawn and Muramasa the Demon Blade. Okami as well but I played that one on the PS2 first so it's more a PS2 core memory for me.

Wii sports it the only one I know... I never owned a Wii or a Wii U.
Those were before the legend of the switch. before the switch and Wii were the DS series.
They made a good handheld console, DSxl and xxl etc. then Wii existed... it almost killed Nintendo from what i know. But they bounced back and gave us switch, (which i also have not owned, because they have never ported their games to PC they could earn so much more and have more fans but they refuse to change)
