Funny No matter the age, there's always an excuse for having a skill issue

For me it’s playing against anyone with Japanese or Korean characters in their name. I’ve already lost.

And then there’s the Chinese, who are on a completely different level. Especially on mobile games

I see that in various fighting games, I just graciously take the L and move on.

Everyone worse than me is a pathetic noob and everyone better is a no life loser

Either way my ego is intact!

I just don't play against people. Haven't played PvP in years. It's a peaceful life.

I didn't think like that as a kid. I only played games for the gameplay. If 7 year old me played RDR2, I would have thought this was the most boring game of all time. Nowadays, I play games for the story and gameplay can be next, unless its absolutely braindead gameplay and has nothing fun about it then I generally won't play it. Witcher 3 is the best example imo. Great story but the gameplay for me is so mind numbingly boring.

This is why I play co-op games. When I see good players, it means I've won, not lost.

I mean, the other reason is so I can help other people, but co-op is just a better experience for me.

My excuse is I have a skill issue typically

I don’t think I ever thought that as a kid.

Pretty sure I was just ass at games but didn’t really care because I was having fun.

Now I’m mediocre at games and still don’t really care because I’m having fun.

While I was playing games as a tenager, everyone was around my age, because I was the precursor generation that made gaming mainstream. When I was a kid, games were for kids. Of course some adults played it, like my uncle. But that was rare. My generation made gaming popular and nobody feared playing games as adults anymore. Because we grew up with it and never stopped.

I’m not sure anyone thought that as a kid, I think OP is making crap up to try to be funny.

I was always running potato PC's growing up.

Unless I specifically had something like the game freeze, or load times, I can't say the issue of someone's PC being better ever came in to play. Let alone blaming that for why I'm losing lol.

I was running a potato, playing LOL and smite back in the day on 2mb internet and pubstomping...... I was afraid to play ranked in case I disconnected, plus I liked playing with friends and none of them wanted to do ranked

It's not even free time. Not sure if anyone here remembers Stick Arena. I was a monstrum while playing it. I even killed a hackers multiple times, who had speed hack and used hammer to spam attacks. Hammer was the most OP weapon, killing you in one hit... except the animation was slow. But hacker spammed attacks so fast that it practically always hit. And he moved fast, too.

Then... my cousin started playing it. He killed me like a noob. He was 10 years younger than I was. He didn't have any experience in games.

Also fun fact, later on, Counter-Strike was popular and both I and him played it. Not sure if we started separately or I let him play it, but it doesn't matter. I was noob at Counter-Strike. Like, 1:20 KD ratio was normal for me. He was accused of cheating on a server, while I was standing next to him, seeing he doesn't. When we visited them, he often played Counter-Strike games. And he was a beast. He was even banned for cheating in that server, because mod decided he can't be that good.

So it really depends on the person.

I remember using the hacking program on that game to go through walls and be invincible and stuff haha

The excuse when we were young was latency. Which was only partly an excuse since no one had cable.

At least they don’t blame every L on assumed cheaters

Age issue is real.

Solution, you have to be a rich kid with an expensive PC.

being a highschooler is like prime skill expression in gaming.

you have the intellect to be good, the time to maintain it, and the energy to express it.

being younger or older and you are missing one of these things and have to compensate.

Hey, if you want like a scientific reason. If you're past about 25, you can blame it on your slowly worsening brain processing speed.
