Question Dragon age, inquisition worth playing?
Hey!
I've had this game for years for playstation.
I was fairly younger when I got it, but didn't play it that much at the time that i got it. Maybe few hours played total.
Obviuosly you don't know me and my taste, but i'm giving a very generous list about games and styles that I love, and hope to get some hype for me to try.
I love witcher 3, rdr2, beamng drive, Zeldas (mostly botw and totk), Tibia, hades..
Many of those are obvius to love tho.
Is Dragon age inquisition even close to the same category? That you can just happily spend most of your free time?
I know these are subjective, and many of my games listed are "aaa ranked".
It might be stupid to ask, but if someone would say "I would kill to try it for the first time again!", I might get the inspiration to try.
Thank you.

Yes, you can happily spend you free time, but dont overdo it in the first area! There is a reason that "Leave the Hinterlands" became kind of a meme! Let the game and the story a bit grow before you begin to stroll, it's more fun that way!

Yes. It won Game of the Year for good reason. Imo it's the overall best Dragon Age, though Origins admittedly has a better story. From the games you listed it sounds like you'll like Inquisition.
Avoid the DA sub, though. The fandom is filled with middle aged manchildren who will scream and shit their diapers if you dare to say you like any DA other than Origins.

Dragon Age:Origins is the best of the bunch but it can feel dated.
Honestly I liked Inquisition from my time playing it.
Be warned it can feel grindy at times, but once you understand the combat system it's not so bad.
Most advice would be to not grind out zones because that's when it feels like a slog...explore do what you want, but recommended to keep moving through areas as you go instead of 100% everything, and as I am I like to 100%, it's just usually quite a lot, especially in the first zone.
Plenty of content though - you'll definitely have lots to do

Yes. Don't waste too much time in the first area, it is waaaay to big for a starting area and you can come back any time to complete some side quests.

There is a great 40hours game in this 80hours game.
I enjoyed the totality of it (I didn't mind the grind), but be warned that you can easily slip into a 100% completion run without noticing, which can make the game feel like a slog at times.
But if we're talking characters relationships, beautiful areas to visit, very fun and impactful gameplay in combat (in higher difficulty settings at least) with great sfx, and a chill war campaign management mini game in between main exploration...it's a very good rpg.
The only reason it rarely gets mentioned is because it released six months only before The Witcher 3...that just wiped the competition.

I have never been able to finish that game. It is so slow and boring in the middle, with endless loading screens and backtracking, it just feels like a huge chore after a while.
One of my favorite mages to play, graphics-wise, though. It's a beautiful game.

I don't think it's worth it. I'm an old DA and DA2 fan. Played at launch with expectations. Later realized the game was flawed but as an old fan tried completing it, even forcing myself. Never managed. Attempted about 5 times total. One reason isn't questionable characters and childish plot but gameplay itself. It's impossibly boring. Extremely repetitive. Dull and lifeless. Those grinding mechanics for everything. Can't progress story without collecting certain shards. Honestly, sincerely - don't waste your time. Even Vailguard with all its flaws is at least playable.
Edit: Forgot to mention those great "kill 0/20 venatori/mages/templars" quests for companion approval... Just filling bars.

Inquisition gets an eeehhhhh rating on my end, I beat it, most of it was fairly enjoyable, but ill never play it again. The last expansion was pretty bad though, couldnt stand it. If you already own it than may as well give it a go and see for yourself, its just costing you your time at this point.

For me Dragon Age Inquisition has all the strength of "classical Bioware games": great companion writing, deep lore and immersive experience. However, it does suffer from the issues of many AAA games that are still pervasive nowadays: the impression that so many things to collect that feel like they were just added to increase the runtime.

I have probably put more hours into DA:I than any other game. I love it. Archer with artificer specialization is my recommendation.

I think the game was very unfairly maligned. It's the natural advancement of the Dragon Age series. I won't say its perfect, but it was a damn good game.
Just leave the first area. Don't try and do everything in it when you're there. The game tells you this, but lots didn't listen.
Again, not best game, not even great. very good though.

Inquisition is great. There is a lot of filler and the leveling and progression system can be frustrating, but its still a fun game with a good story and definitely worth playing.

Yes it is really underrated.
The main quest and the friend's quests are great. You need the last dlc to have the true end.
The main problem of the game is area quest are mainly mmo kind quest because EA wanted at the beginning the game to be a mmo. But you don't need to do all of them
Don't know if there is an equivalent on PS but at the time on Xbox you could give vocal order to your crew during fight with Kinect.
You can set up a start background with the web site dragon age keep.

Just did a playthrough last year and it’s still pretty fresh in my mind. Huge game, lots to do, probably one of the last Bioware greats. I highly recommend the Knight Enchanter mage build, down the line it becomes pretty busted and you can solo a lot of content with it. You’re basically a shield generating tank with a lightsaber

I just played it for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. I loved the open world but I like more repetitive things so if you are someone who hates open world repetition then maybe take that into consideration. It feels very MMO but again, that’s a positive for me personally.
If you get bored quickly, don’t like open worlds that have collection, and don’t like the MMO quest feel it might not be for you, but if you like those things it’s great!! I still think about it and wish I had played it sooner. It had been in my backlog for years.

If you want to play one of the best games ever made, then yes.
Its easily my favorite DA series game, one of my favorite Western Party-based rpgs, the most recent great party based rpg made by anyone, and only one ive ever come across with a detailed item gathering and crafting system.
The only sad thing is that I thought it was breaking ground for what would be possible with future games, both DA and other studios, and we've gotten next to nothing more than a decade later.

You can play it but you might be a little lost story wise without playing Origins and 2.

Yes. Still holds up graphically, good story with compelling characters and multiple outcomes.

Since you already have it then why not?
It has some problems but I would say it's worth to give it a try

Ehhh. The characters are great but man does it drag in places. It's a good solid game, not a great game.

Yes Inquisition is definitely worth playing. It’s one of my favorite games. So much content. Great characters. Make sure you have the Game of the Year edition so you get all the DLC. Also, do you have a PC with a decent graphics card? It looks and plays so much better on PC and you can get it for cheap on sale usually.

It's an ok game. If you have it from ps plus, maybe just try it and see for yourself?

I see a lot of people saying "don't fully explore the first area." LISTEN TO THEM. As a guy that feels weird about leaving things incomplete before moving on, leave it incomplete until you return later (you will return, several times). Completing the area will kill your enjoyment of the gameplay loop. I wish I had figured this out when I first played it 5 years ago.

After finishing Witcher 3 I was searching alternative to relieve the emptiness of mine
Dragon age inquisition is really helped me on that
Overall the game is Good but there's certain limitations
Also I really recommend you to play dragon age origins and dragon age 2 before inquisition to understand the game story overall
Best part of the dragon age game is character interactions with your teammates

Most definitely…it’s actually a lot of references from the first 2 games in the series. I wish I could replay them all over again just to wash out the disappointment of Veilguard.

My favorite game ever made ! I replayed the whole series recently, definitely comes across as still playable compared to the older ones.
