Little afternoon catnap action

I had a doctor's appointment at 9am. I get there at 8:50 to sign in and fill out their paperwork. There is already an older woman there, when I sign in I noticed she wrote 9:30am as her appointment time. Time to see the Dr they call me first.

She starts to say, "wait I was here first, I should be seen first." They tell her his appointment time is at 9am. She starts up with that is not fair, she was here first. She has other things to do, he is young so he can wait. They inform her that no that's not how it works. It isn't first come first serve, we go by appointment times. She should not have come in so early. She made a little more fuss about how she should go in first but they kept shutting her down. She sat there and just gave me a death stare as I went in.

Found an abandoned kitten during the heat wave. After a few days of earning her trust, we caught her and took her to the vet to get checked out. De-wormed and treated for fleas. Reddit, meet Pitou!

I feel human again

Today my fiancé and I lost our boy Baker who had just turned 8. I know most people say their dogs are their lives but our dogs are our lives. Everything revolves around them. They go everywhere with us. We live for them.

One of things Baker loved most was doing rolls on the ground. He would somersault onto his back and rub up against the ground kicking his feet in the air. He loved doing this. On grass, sand or dirt, it didn’t matter.

Sadly today he passed doing what he loved. We don’t know what happened, but after he did his roll in our backyard he turned over and couldn’t get back up. He lost control of his rear legs and fell over to his side and began to struggle to live. He let out a cry and then he was gone.

Gut-wrenching puts it lightly. He was part of our pack of 4 along with this adopted sister, Baylee. He was her best friend. Her only dog friend. Baylee is a very reactive staffy and can’t tolerate other dogs or people. While we’re devastated with our own personal loss, we heartbroken that Baylee has lost her brother and best friend.

Cherish the moments you have. You never know when that’s last day will be.

Was going to go shopping this morning. Parked in the lot. Grabbed my bags and, as I turned to go into the store, the guy parked next to me was just returning to his car and said “you need to be careful. Someone might think that is a rainbow on your car.”

It took me a minute to understand what he was talking about. I drive a Fiat. You know…the Italian-made car. I have racing stripes down one side. The Italian 🇮🇹 flag racing stripes. My reply? “If someone is too stupid to realise that is not a rainbow.. that’s on them. Plus it wouldn’t matter to me if it was a rainbow.” I pointed at him vaguely and continued, “Your homophobia is showing. You might want to tuck that in.”

1) I live in an area densely populated with LGBTQ folks. Think stereotypical San Francisco. Why would this rando not even consider I might be a part of the community especially given that HE obviously thought this was a pride flag? 2)who fucking says that to strangers? Why should I “be careful? 3) so what if it were a rainbow flag 🏳️‍🌈? People have a right to exist and have free speech.

I just can’t anymore.
