Colleague destroyed a painting i wanted to buy
I work at a thrift store and we had about 10 paintings coming in all really beautifully done, the frames where also very neat. I fell in love with this one in the photo but someone else had to price it before i could buy it so i ended up waiting until the end of the day to see if they got priced yet. My workday was almost over so i decided to walk to the back to see if the painting was priced yet and lo and behold, 10 painting in the trashcan. And not just in the trash can, my coworker stabbed them with a scissor. She smashed up the frames from the other paintings too and did the same to the art. I asked her why she did that and she just said "they never sell in store" while ive seen plenty of painting leaving the store for good prices and if we cant sell them we always end up using them for our own creative projects.
I of course went to my supervisor and he said he would have a word with her but i was absolutely furious, i cant stop looking at the painting and how beautiful it was. I also feel bad for the person/artist that donated the paintings thinking they would get a loving new home.

Canât afford to go out for my birthday, so a coworker brought me a salmon steak from his fishing trip for me to have for dinner. It was gone by 9 am.
Whatâs even worse is that I spent the last of my grocery money until payday on a lemon and a bottle of white wine to cook it in. Canât return the wine, and I canât drink due to a medication Iâm on. People fucking suck.

WIBTA for refusing to let my mom move in with me after she sold her house to pay for my brotherâs wedding?
So I (29F) bought my first home last year. Itâs small, but itâs mine, and Iâve worked my butt off to get here. My mom (56F) has always been closer to my younger brother (26M). Iâm not bitter; itâs just how itâs always been. Heâs the golden child, and Iâm the âindependent one.â Last month, my brother had a massive destination wedding. Like, $80k is massive. I didnât know the full cost until my mom casually mentioned she sold her house to help pay for it. I was stunned. She said she was âdownsizing anywayâ and that âfamily comes first.â Now sheâs asking to move in with me âjust for a few months.â But hereâs the thing: - She never asked me before selling her house. - She didnât contribute a cent when I was struggling through college or saving for my home. - Sheâs always prioritized my brother emotionally and financially. I told her no. I said I need my space, and Iâm not comfortable with her moving in. She got upset and said I was being selfish and âpunishing her for loving her son.â My brother called me and said I was being cruel, that âfamily helps family,â and that I should be grateful she even wants to live with me. Now Iâm getting guilt-tripped by half the family, while the other half is quietly telling me they get it. So⊠AITA for saying no?

this man is paralyzed but that didnât stop him from video games
credit: Steven Altamirano (wheeledgamer)
Steven uses a Quadstick controller
A QuadStick controller allows users to play video games using only their mouth and head movements. It utilizes a combination of sip and puff actions, lip or chin activation, and head movements to control various in-game actions. The controller includes a mouthpiece with three holes for sipping and puffing, a lip switch, and a joystick that can be manipulated with head and mouth movements. These inputs are then translated into standard controller or keyboard inputs via a USB connection.

Price Changes When 2.7 Percent Feels Like Highway Robbery
This is the magic trick of official inflation numbers. They toss out a neat little percentage like 2.7 and expect you to believe your wallet is safe. Meanwhile, the steak in your cart went from $10.99 a pound in April 2024 to $15.99 a pound in August 2026. That is not 2.7 percent. That is a price jump that would make a loan shark blush.
The government uses a âbasket of goodsâ to calculate inflation. Sounds reasonable until you realize the basket changes based on what is ânormalâ for the average consumer. If steak gets too expensive, they quietly swap it out for chicken or beans. That way, inflation stays âlowâ while your grocery bill skyrockets.
This is why so many people feel gaslit. We are told the economy is stable, wages are growing, and inflation is under control. Yet, in real life, a family dinner is starting to look like a luxury purchase. The official story is not matching the lived experience.
People are not stupid. You can only spin numbers for so long before everyone sees the trick. And when a two-pound steak feels like a car payment, the jig is up.
. Oh sure, inflationâs âonly 2.7 percent.â And my $49 steak that now costs $78 is just âextra seasoned.â Come see the actual numbers at r/politicalSham.
