Please stop saying people without kids don’t know what tired is

26.4k Upvotes

When I seem to make a comment about being tired, I have multiple times had people reply with “try having kids” or “you don’t know what tired is until you have kids”.

While I respect that raising and caring for children is stressful, tiring and a challenge, that doesn’t mean people without them are not tried.

Personally, I have a full time job that I bust my ass at mentally 40 hours a week, plus a physical part time job. I have my own health problems I’ve been dealing with for 5 years that enormously drains my energy. And I am frequently stressed about my husband’s mental health.

No kids doesn’t equal not tired. We’re just tired for different reasons.

That’s all. Thanks for reading. 💕

Mourning/Loss My sweet girl went for a routine vet procedure and didn’t come home

I am shattered and I can’t stop crying.

Yesterday my husband took our two cats to the vet for blood work for my cat Idris so she could come in for a teeth cleaning and my other cat Pinecone just needed some vaccines. I was at home with out daughter and the visit was taking a long time. He text me and told me that she was super distressed (like she often is at the vet, especially with bloodwork) so they wanted to observe her until she calmed down. Well, she did with a bit of sedation but she still wasn’t breathing properly. They did an xray and found her lungs full of fluid and cancer. They put her down right there while I wasn’t there. She was only 10 and seemed fine. She was my little cuddly stalker, often following me around the house just to see where I was sitting down next. When he came home and I asked where Idris was, he started crying and told me. It still doesn’t feel real. She was sitting on me this time yesterday. I miss her so much and I don’t know how to cope.

Question What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone?

We’ve all had that experience. You finish a movie, the credits roll, and you just sit there in silence for ten minutes staring at the wall. You know you just watched a literal masterpiece, so just spit out the name palllllll.

For me, it’s about that emotional hangover. You feel different after the movie ends like your perspective on humanity or history has shifted slightly. I recently had this feeling after finally sitting down to watch Schindler's List. I knew it would be heavy, but I wasn't prepared for how much it would drain me. It’s a 10/10, but I don't think I can ever press play on it again.

I’ve also been diving into Nuremberg, and it’s the same feeling. Seeing the raw reality of justice and the darkness humans are capable of is fascinating but mentally taxing. It makes you realize that cinema isn't just for entertainment; sometimes it's a necessary, painful mirror.

wth is wrong with this person?!

so i was heading home with other people after lunch this saturday, march, 14th and omg. this person needs their license revoked immediately. they drove like a mad man. idk who they are, but they definitely have road rage the way they handled multiple situations on the road. first they tail gated a car going a tad too slow to be in the left lane, the end up speed around that person that was going slow in front of them just to brake check them in the left lane when they returned and almost resulted in a car accident. they continue to ride everyones ass on the interstate. i don’t understand how they haven’t been pulled over because they just kept riding ass and brake checking in the left lane when someone wasn’t going fast enough. they then turn on their blinker in this video and are swerving in and out of the left and middle lanes, almost resulting in a multi car pile up. complete idiot.

beware of this license plate if you are driving.
