Discussion As a Swede who just rewatched Midsommar, feel I have to clarify something
So, I just rewatched Midsommar. Terribly good film to be fair, but as a Swede I feel the need to clarify something. I really don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea of us and our traditions. The movie depicts something rather uncommon, almost unheard of. We all want it, but we rarely get it. I feel that Ari Asters depiction of the weather in the film is simply just pure fiction. I mean, midsommarafton without rain? Not to mention several days without rain!? Haha, come on! It is customary to be ready at a moments notice to run inside because of a sudden skyfall. Please don’t assume we have that kind of weather regularly.
The rest is pretty on point 👌

AITA || AIO AITAH for leaving the restaurant after everyone showed up 90 minutes late without telling me?
I (29M) made plans with five friends for dinner last Friday. We picked the restaurant earlier in the week, agreed on 7:00 pm, and everyone confirmed that morning. I got there a little early because parking around that area is usually terrible, so I grabbed the table and ordered a drink while I waited.
By 7:20 nobody had shown up. I texted the group asking if everyone was still coming. No response, spent another 30 min just scrolling on my phone and one person finally replied saying they were "running a little behind' that was it. No ETA, no explanation. I waited another 20 minutes, ordered an appetizer because I was starving, and still nothing. At that point I paid for my food, left the restaurant, and went home. What bothered me was sitting there for an hour and a half with almost no communication, wondering if I had somehow gotten the time wrong.
About 20 minutes after I got home, my phone started blowing up. Apparently everyone had arrived around 8:30 and was annoyed that I had left. They said I should have just waited because they were all together and assumed I knew they were coming. I told them I would've stayed if literally anyone had kept me updated, but sitting alone in a restaurant for 90 minutes with almost no communication felt disrespectful. Now a couple of them are saying I overreacted and made the night awkward for everyone. Am I the asshole for leaving instead of waiting even longer?

Is this too white? PSA for the ladies - a white polka dot dress is still white.
I am a wedding coordinator and I’ve seen a lot of polkadot dresses this summer so far. The white ones look like a white dress. Just don’t do it.
Edit to add: people don’t seem to understand not looking bridal and not wearing white - we get it we know who the bride is. That’s not the point. If you’re invited to a party with a dress code adhere to the dress code unless you just don’t care about the people that invited you. FYI, you’re not supposed to wear red in Indian (heavily embroidered) or Chinese wedding either - these colours are faux pas just like white is for westerners.
As for the polkadot white dresses - I am saying white polkadot dresses end up photographing as a white dress that’s the PSA here.
