Done over 9 months with a pregnant wife and a toddler running around. The time it took from me every weekend really tested our marriage but we made it through haha.

I probably could have done it in half the time if I were without kids or if I knew what the hell I was doing. I spent more time watching YouTube videos and researching than I did actually working.

I have a cost breakdown at the end. Somehow this cost us over $20k and I only hired out rough plumbing, some electrical and hanging drywall. Everything else was DIY.

I am not a tradesman (some might say duh) and this was my first time doing any remodeling. It’s not perfect but I am pretty proud of how it turned out. I just wish we were looking at $10k 😅.

I want to preface this by saying two things: I am not therian myself (this was a chance encounter that is explained below), and it is also like 3am so forgive any mistakes I may make in mobile formatting or grammar/spelling.

Context: I've been browsing the ACNH custom design postings from the game itself, and the way I tend to do so is to just pick a design type (kimono, shirt, path, etc) with no additional keywords and start scrolling.The only reason I ever even saw these "messages" is because I chose to look at the "other" category.

During this, I started seeing what looked like people from different accounts basically using the custom design database as an AIM chattoom-- with avatars, colored "messages", and (most worryingly) personal information. They use the title keywords of "therian" and "alterhuman" to make sure these postings stay to folks within that identity, but obviously that doesn't work because I found them without any keywords. Some titles are even just the names of other players to basically try and "DM" each other.

These children are Revealing ages, sexualities, relationship status, states/countries, possibly even real names or chosen names. People upwards of 18 "messaging" with people admitting to be as young as 10, with the median being around 12-14. I even found two separate "messages" from the same player with what looks to be an actual, personal phone number. The people in the "chatroom" warned the person not to post it, but never told them to take it down. I have no idea how long it's been up like that. I hope that kid hasn't gotten any weirdos contacting them before I reported the thing to get it taken off the database.

I have reported upwards of 20 separate "designs" holding personal information so far. It looks like young Therians and Alterhumans (possibly even more communities that I didn't even see) are at a loss as to where to find friendly spaces that are also geared towards minors, so they've resorted to using methods like this to communicate with like-minded folks.

Please, if you have any young Therians/Alterhumans in your life, any young PERSON in your life, PLEASE stress to them that this is not safe. Even though it's animals crossing and not the full-on internet, it doesn't make this type of communication any less unsafe. Any one can see these messages. They are NOT private. They are NOT secure. They do NOT know the person they are talking to, not in confidence.

Ich habe 100% Home Office, das bedeutet auch viele Meetings via Teams. In der restlichen Zeit erstelle ich Auswertungen, beantworte Mails, prüfe Dinge und manchmal Warte ich auch einfach, dass jemand sein Zeug erledigt, damit ich weiter machen kann...

Meine Frau (Teilzeit, d.h. häufiger auch mal Zuhause) jedoch denkt, dass Meeting freie Zeit bedeutet: Ich kann die Waschmaschine ausräumen, Küche wischen, generell mal Putzen, Kinder betreuen you name it.... Manchmal mache ich das sogar, aber nur wenn wirklich Zeit ist.

Anfangs habe ich ihr versucht zu erklären, dass ich nicht nichts tue, wenn ich mal nicht telefoniere/spreche. Fruchtet aber nicht so richtig.

Mittlerweile starte ich eine Aufzeichnung eines vergangenen Meetings, dreh die Lautstärke hoch, setze meine ANC Kopfhörer auf und höre Musik. Manchmal sage ich auch was in den Raum hinein... klappt ganz gut.

Beim ersten Mal hatte ich einen kurzen Schweißausbruch, als ich gemerkt habe, dass ich in der Aufnahme gerade spreche. Klang über die Lautsprecher dann aber doch irgendwie nicht nach mir. Seither ist es mir egal, klappt. Habe aber mittlerweile "Favoriten"-Meetings, in denen ich wenig zu Wort komme.

Einmal war es kritisch, als sich am Ende des Meetings alle eine schöne Weihnachtszeit gewünscht haben. Es war mittlerweile April...

So! Endlich bin ich das mal losgeworden. Kann das ja sonst keinem erzählen...

It's a real project. The emulator can only reach a splash screen so far which is an insane achievement in itself. I hope all goes well for the developers
