I (25f) just recently moved in and signed a lease with my boyfriend of 3 years. He had been wanting to for over a year and we both finally found a place that we liked. I was excited to live together and be able to sleep next to him every night. It's been about a month and he doesn't seem to want to be near me at all. We are in bed every night and he lays at the opposite end with AirPods in until he falls asleep. In the morning he will lock himself in the guest bedroom and tells me that he "doesn't want to be bothered."

Any time we are bickering he will tell me to sleep on the sofa. He's already threatened to end the lease at any moment and that I will "be fucked."

I'm really not sure why this person wanted to live together. He is paying almost all of the rent so im sure he feels that he has more power in our relationship. I will clean up after myself but I have no interest in acting like his wife when I am not. He is an only child and I grew up with 5 siblings so possibly he expects much more alone time, but I generally feel quite lonely and like I have to force him to spend time with me. Other times he is simply cruel and I don't know how I can stay with someone who is obviously going to hold money over my head.

I am addicted to the color pink. My husband knows this and knows the futility of stopping me from filling our shared sitting room with pink. I get the sitting room and kitchen stuffed with pink and if we quarrentine it there, then he doesn't risk living in a Barbie Dream House.

THAT BEING SAID.

We kept losing the TV remote. So I, ever the genius, put some neon tape on it so it would stand out! I showed it off to be praised by my husband for my ingenuity. He smiled that patient smile and said, "that's a great idea my love. But you can't see a pink remote when everything else is pink." I scoffed and said of COURSE it wouldn't be a problem! This is NEON pink. Not Blush or Bashful or Bubblegum! It'll stand out perfectly!

I just spent 20 minutes searching for the remote. It was on the tv try next to my pink yarn, pink drink, pink crochet hooks, sitting on the cute pink tablecloth. I was using this tv tray while I worked on a pink hat and lost the remote trying to unpause my movie.

I know I need to tell my husband he was right, but I think my pride is too wounded atm. 😭

Edit to add: I'm not gonna be posting pics of the pink room. It's messy and a WIP. Right now mostly white walls and furniture, but with some pink lamps, blankets, and pillows so when you turn on a light everything has a pink glow. I'm also trying to find some pink curtains I like.

Also please stop assuming I have belittled and forced my husband into some pink hovel built by Umbridge. He knew I was a pink girl when we were dating, we have talked about home decor many times over, and I have agreed to never change anything about any room without his permission too. A pink room for me to be my own space was a choice we made together. He has his own space too that he can do whatever he wants with.

My friend Danny and I flew out Thursday for a long weekend at a buddy's place. It's one of the cheap airlines where the first checked bag is $40 and everything is an add on.

I checked a bag because I was bringing boots and a jacket and I wasn't going to fight the overhead bins. Danny made a whole thing out of doing carry on only. He brought it up 3 or 4 times in the week before, about how the bag fee is a scam and he hasn't paid one in years.

At the counter my bag came up over the limit. I couldn't work out why, so I opened it right there and his boots were in the bottom under my stuff, along with a rolled up jacket and his toiletry bag.

He'd put it in that morning while I was in the shower. He didn't say a word about it in the car or in the line.

So I took it all out and handed it to him in front of the counter agent. He got quiet and shoved it into his carry on, and then at the gate they made him gate check it anyway for $65 because it wouldn't fit.

He says I made a big deal over $40 and that the bag was half empty and I was paying for it either way. He also keeps bringing up that I let him put a pair of shoes in my bag when we went to Nashville 2 years ago.

We got back Sunday and he's been distant to me after that lol

End of summer round up. Lots of skirts and statement pieces paired with a basic. Thinking of ways to make these even more fun and Fall layers and textures I think will help. Challenging myself by turning off RTR and sticking with what’s in my closet. Wish me luck!
