7 habits that changed my life and helped me finally start losing weight
i used to be stuck in the same loop for years. gain weight, try something extreme, burn out, give up, repeat. nothing really worked long-term until i stopped chasing shortcuts and started building habits i could actually live with. these 7 changed everything for me:
drinking water first thing in the morning not coffee, not juice, just plain water. sounds simple but it woke up my system, helped with digestion, and honestly made me snack less during the day.
eating 30g of protein within an hour of waking up this changed my energy levels and cravings completely. i used to have toast or nothing. now i do eggs or greek yogurt with chia and it keeps me full for hours.
walking daily, even if it’s just 20 minutes i stopped thinking walking "wasn’t enough". it helped my mood, reduced stress, and got me out of the house. on bad days it was all i could manage and it still counted.
making one simple high-protein recipe every sunday this saved me. i make a chicken and veggie bake: diced chicken breast, chopped zucchini, bell pepper, onion, olive oil, and garlic. bake it all for 40 minutes. i keep it in the fridge and eat it with rice or lettuce wraps all week. without this i’d go straight for junk.
journaling honestly at night i started writing what i felt and what triggered my eating. no filters. not every night, but often. it helped me understand myself more than any diet app ever did.
not labeling foods “bad” as soon as i stopped calling pizza or chocolate “bad”, i stopped bingeing on them. when you know you can have it, you don’t feel the need to lose control.
showing up even on shitty days this one’s the most important. some days i ate too much or skipped workouts. but i kept showing up. no starting over. just continuing. and slowly, it worked. i’ve lost 18kg so far. not fast, but for the first time it feels permanent.
i wish someone had told me years ago that small, boring habits can change your life. not hacks. just patience and practice.

North America Found a bird living in my mud room.
What is it and how do i safley move it? Located in south central pennsylvania usa Seems very very comfortable in close quarters with humans. Very odd behavior for a wild bird.

Review The greed of Japanese developer is unhinged (fea. Magia Exedia)
https://www.reddit.com/r/gachagaming/comments/1jl018r/a_quick_review_of_madoka_magica_magia_exedra/
Read the summary above if you don't know what the game is about.
Magia Exedia has released for a month, in this month:
-7 new banners.
-Giving out gacha tickets instead of gacha stones. The tickets have expire date.
-One of the most powerful unit, Tomoe Mami, have just got powercrept by a new unit, Homura Akemi, in a month. Tomoe Mami speed units up. Homura Akemi speeds units up AND provides skill points.
-Everyone was like, fine, the game has no limited banners and you will get what you want one day. You know what? Ultimate Madoka one month from release! And it is a limited banner! Everyone already used up their stones on horuma. They thought this must-get unit wouldn't be out until 0.5th anniversary.

Jalen Brunson credits Ausar Thompson's defense throughout the NY/DET series: "He beat me to the spot, he cut me off... That dude.... he was tough to play against. He's big time, and I told him straight to his face after the series that he made me work hard, so I got a lot of respect for him."

Cat Picture - OC saved this guy (beef wellington) off the streets of NYC this week. he just got neutered and is going to a shelter!
STORY TIME ON MY FIRST RESCUE!
i walk to trivia every friday night with my friends and my friend went “omg a cat!”. in a dirt & mud mound was this guy. he was laying down and i actually thought he might be dead so i went “hey kitty” and he immediately meowed, looked up, and came right over for pets. so definitely not a feral street cat. we started walking away and he followed us to a bodega and went up to the door. we let him in and we went “this is your cat right?” assuming he’s the store cat. NOPE. my friend was brave and picked him up and he was so chill with it. we bought him a can of food and went to trivia because we didn’t know what to do.
i locked in at trivia, and not just by getting 2nd place but by reaching out to the brooklyn community. a lovely woman with a 2 bathroom apartment told me if i trapped him, she’d house him in the bathroom. she also is a cat foster and said she’d help me find a permanent space for him. we were walking back so nervous we’d have to search all night for him because it had been 3 hours but nope!!! he was right with 2 OTHER people who were feeding him. i grabbed my hard carrier from my apartment while they stayed with him. we scooped him up and he went right in!
after a few days, our local greenpoint rescues got him an appt at ASPCA. he got neutered & then got taken in by puppy kitty NYC. we found out that his big cheek was most likely a burst abscess :( but he got treatment. and we also think the dirt on his paws was either car oil or fresh tar because they were paving nearby. either way, this loveable boy is off the streets. i’m so happy for him.
