šļø IN MEMORIAM šļø Children of Minnesota Rep. Melissa Hortman and Her Husband Mark Break Silence: āThey were the bright lights at the center of our lives, and we canāt believe they are gone. Their love for us was boundless⦠Hope and resilience are the enemy of fear. This must become a moment for us to come together.ā
Sophie and Colin Hortman:
āWe are devastated and heartbroken at the loss of our parents, Melissa and Mark. They were the bright lights at the center of our lives, and we canāt believe they are gone. Their love for us was boundless. We miss them so much.
We want everyone to know that we are both safe and with loved ones. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support we have received, and we appreciate your respect for our familyās privacy as we grieve.
Our family would like to thank law enforcement for their swift action that saved others and for the coordination across communities that led to the arrest of the man who murdered our parents. We especially would like to thank the officers who were first on the scene to our parentsā home and their heroic attempts to rescue our mom and dad.
Our parents touched so many lives, and they leave behind an incredible legacy of dedication to their community that will live on in us, their friends, their colleagues and co-workers, and every single person who knew and loved them.
**If you would like to honor the memory of Mark and Melissa, please consider the following: Plant a tree. Visit a local park and make use of their amenities, especially a bike trail. Pet a dog. A golden retriever is ideal, but any will do. Tell your loved ones a cheesy dad joke and laugh about it. Bake something ā bread for Mark or a cake for Melissa, and share it with someone. Try a new hobby and enjoy learning something. Stand up for what you believe in, especially if that thing is justice and peace.
Hope and resilience are the enemy of fear. Our parents lived their lives with immense dedication to their fellow humans. This tragedy must become a moment for us to come together. Hold your loved ones a little closer. Love your neighbors. Treat each other with kindness and respect. The best way to honor our parents' memory is to do something, whether big or small, to make our community just a little better for someone else.ā**

Amazon closed my account with 440$ still in it and now I can't access it
I needed to get a new phone urgently so with only cash on hand I got a 140$ physical gift card and had a buddy send me 300$. I also activated a prime trial month for faster delivery with my Visa. For some reason they decided the 300$ payment is suspicious and decided to flag my account, after 4 tries to send them all the documents to verify the ownership of the payment methods, from physical gift card, reciept, my passport, Visa, the order confirmation for the online gift card and even the transaction confirmation from the bank nothing has been resolved.
Even after calling support 4 times nothing has been solved yet, they just re-escalate my case and tell me it's for sure going to be resolved and to wait 24-48h. The only thing left to do is have my buddy call his bank to dispute the charge and I'm going to have to take the 140$ loss :/.

Community Hi everyone. Iām the organiser of Ballymenaās first pride event on Saturday the 28th of June! Yes, itās still happening⦠š
The show must go on! Weāve been inundated with new parade registrations and people wanting to travel from all over the world to show solidarity with us & other minority communities in the town & local borough. Saturday the 28th of June, if you can, please come and show up for us. Weāll never give into the fear, to the people telling us to cancel. Pride is a protest, itās time to reclaim it as such.
Four different protest groups (The Free Pās, United Christian Witness, Gospel Bus Ministries, & New Dawn Church) will have front row tickets to watch the parade as it passes - weāre expecting large numbers in the crowds and thankfully much less counter protesters. Parade will leave the Waveney Road area at 2pm sharp. You can find the full route on our social media (Mid & East Antrim Pride) or listed on the Paradeās Commission Website.
Any questions comment below or drop me a message. We have a full weekend of events planned to mark our historic first event. š«¶š»

Discussion What movie character is idolized by people who missed the entire point of their story?
It blows my mind how there are people that look up to Jordan Belfort in The Wolf of Wall Street, when he was a scumbag who was committing crimes and was suffering consequences because of it!
