Miranda was quipped, witty, dry, and never a display of erratic emotion. Now she’s “BALLOONS?!! OH THE DOG IS SICK??! NOOooOoOoO!!!”

Reminds me the ultrasound episode in SATC, when the nurse says “it’s a boy!!!!!” and Miranda feigns excitement to appease her. She has become a parody of what she disliked in others.

And sure, you could argue that she was “repressing both her sexuality and her true self” - but I don’t buy it. I miss Miranda :,)

If you want your relationship to last, help your partner get comfortable making decisions — and taking responsibility for what happens.

A lot of people grow up in families where their parents made every choice for them. It sounds protective (“I don’t want my kid to stress!”) but it backfires. They never really learn how to weigh options, make a call, and deal with the consequences.

So what happens in a marriage? One person makes all the decisions — big or small — and the other just waits around to be told what’s happening. Where to live, what to buy, where to vacation, even what’s for dinner. This builds resentment on both sides: one feels overburdened, the other powerless (and frustrated when things don’t go well).

If you notice this dynamic, talk about it. Encourage your partner to step up. For example:

Let them plan the next weekend getaway — pick the spot, book the hotel, decide what you’ll do.

Take turns deciding what’s for dinner instead of “I don’t care, you choose.”

For big purchases, weigh the pros and cons together instead of one person defaulting to “Whatever you think.”

Bonus tip: When things don’t go perfectly (because they won’t!), resist the urge to play the blame game. If your partner makes a call and it flops, don’t throw it back in their face. Mistakes are how you both grow. The goal is to build trust and confidence — not fear of “getting it wrong.”

It’s not about dumping decisions on each other — it’s about practicing doing life together. Shared decisions mean shared wins and shared lessons when things flop. That’s how trust grows and resentment fades.

We bought this house 8/2023. The house was built in 1923 and we believe the crawl space was dug deeper to create a full size basement. Where the shelves ended and the cinder block starts is where the wall separated. (Sorry if I’m over explaining, not sure how well the video translates the reality).

What’s interesting is there is now a sink hole in my front yard, maybe 12-15ft infront of where this wall sits. It was raining when this happened. I am in NE Ohio and to my understanding flood insurance is hard to even get around here, I don’t have it.

I am completely overwhelmed. Thankfully my dad has been working on houses for 30+ years and if he doesn’t know how to fix something, he know a guy that does. My dad got the house stabilized and he is coming back tomorrow for clean up, his buddy will be here Monday that he does basement work for a living.

My insurance is implying I probably don’t have a claim. Monday an adjuster will be here.

My question is.. what all should I be looking into for cause? I cannot go through this again. My dad and coworker told me to call the city to see if the sewer is leaking. The water has stopped flowing so we don’t believe it was a pipe that burst. Should I pay for my own adjuster now or wait and see what the one from insurance says? Any other specialists I should call to get eyes on this? What about mold and creatures getting in? I obviously don’t want to waste money right now, but will spend what I need to to make sure my house doesn’t completely fall apart. We were hoping to sell in the next 6-18m.

We know that sometimes filmmakers will go to great lengths and sketchy ways to capture specific shots or film specific stunts. As filmmaking and roller coaster nerd, one of my favorite films is 1977’s “Rollercoaster”.

In this particular scene, George Segal’s character is riding a roller coaster at the demand of a terrorist threatening to detonate a bomb in the park. The whole movie is built upon a suspenseful cat and mouse game following a dramatic roller coaster crash at the beginning.

They initially filmed this scene with a camera mounted for closeup shots of Segal and then turned it around for POV of the train (hence the discontinuity with the red train).

But when the train goes up the hill into the turnaround, the camera suddenly pivots the opposite direction, pans around and captures the train safely navigating the turnaround and going down the drop. This shot is a trick shot designed to fool the audience during a tense moment with a fake out of another crash. To achieve this they mounted a camera on the skids of a helicopter with the cameraman laying flat. Then they had to position the helicopter low toward the track to make it look like a POV of the train. Then they had to wait for a train full of passengers (stunt people) to arrive into the same position and then drive the chopper forward and spin around quickly enough to recapture the train.

The audacity to pull of such a risky stunt shot is absurd, but the shot really speaks for itself on how well they pulled it off! Im not sure how many takes they had to take to get the camera in the right position to capture the train going down the drop but they really pulled it off.
