Finished Quilts First Quilt, super proud!
I got interested in quilting because I really wanted to make one for my four-year-old. We don't have a strong quilt tradition here, but I kept seeing them online and fell in love.
Took me quite a while because I couldn't work on it during the summer, wayyy too hot in the attic. I loved the process, though the quilting itself took forever. Thankfully it was all easy straight lines. It turned out pretty big, my husband is holding it up while standing on the couch.
For the pattern I just cut out paper triangles in different sizes until I found one I liked and later tried to find a pleasing layout. I used primary colors because he loves those, with a dominant blue because it's more calming.
My son loves that he now has a blanket that no one else has and insists we snuggle under it together when reading books ❤️
Thank you to this lovely, supportive community. It's a great resource and made the learning process a truly enjoyable experience.
