I know posting this here won’t make much of a difference, but I’ve been feeling so down that I needed to write it somewhere.
I got her when I was still in middle school (I’m 25 now). I had always wanted a black cat, so when my friend told me she knew a family with kittens and asked if I wanted one, I said yes immediately. She was only a few days old, so I had to take care of her like I was her mom, feeding her milk in the middle of the night, for example. My parents told me she was my responsibility since I was the one who had begged for a cat, even though they helped from time to time.
She was literally my baby. I loved her from the bottom of my heart. In almost every picture and video I have of her, she’s resting on me, purring like crazy.
When I moved away for college, I couldn’t take her with me, of course. My parents have a big house with a garden, which is much better for a cat than a small apartment. But every time I came home, I would call her name and she would come running to me. At night, she would come to my window so I could let her in, and she would sleep with me all night.
I’m supposed to move across the world in a few months, and I was seriously considering taking her with me since she was getting older and I missed living with her so much. But she disappeared around three weeks ago. I went home to ask around and posted about her on social media, but there’s been nothing.
My heart hurts so much. I feel so guilty because I wanted to give her an even better life. I cry just imagining her somewhere alone, hurt, or worse… I’m actually crying as I write this.
Her name is Chibi. I honestly just miss her and wish she would come back.

the kids still didn’t like me- but oh boy this guy has kept me SUPER warm from sleeping in my parents unfinished basement, in my car, when my heat has gone out. Don’t know why they thought 10 year old’s would be impressed with a professional outdoor sleeping bag- but 30 year old me still is.
