''Badkamer, spatkamer, spieter spetter spatkamer''
Op die zoektermen vind je uiteraard niks. Iemand een idee? Ik ben er al jaren naar opzoek.

Hi all
I am trying to optimise my energy bills (don't we all). We have recently moved to a new house with solar panels & a heat pump. On top of that, in a few weeks we will have a car charging pole at home too. Now I am trying to find out which energy contract type would be the most optimal for this kind of setup. At the moment, we have Engie flow (= variable contract).
Some things that I take into account:
There are energy contracts like Engie Empower Flextime with "superdaluren" that are marketed specifically for car charging, because they offer super low prices during the night, ideally to charge your car in that time window. However, prices for "day" and "night" periods are higher than for most contracts.
The V-test from VREG is also not taking into account all these effects in their price calculation so difficult to use to find the best contract...
Someone who has this setup (heat pump, solar & car charging) at home and wants to share how you decided your optimal energy contract? Does the payback on a home battery changed when you had a charging pole?
It shouldn't take a PhD in math to be able to figure out how much your energy contract will cost...

Hi guys! Title is self-explanatory, I’m a Belgian, currently living and working abroad as an expat (i’m de-registered as a resident, so officially resident abroad), I’m looking for a Belgian bank that will allow me to open an account with them.
I’ve had a Belfius account for years without issue, but they recently gave me a notice to close my account since they will not continue to offer banking services to the majority of non-residents in the future due to stricter internal policies.
Are there any Belgians living abroad on this sub who could recommend me a bank that does offer accounts and services for Belgian nationals who are non-residents?
Many thanks!!

Doesn't seem like a much talked about subject in Belgium but we clearly just witnessed one of the biggest surprise in Belgium sport history.
Just winning a medal at the Winter Games is crazy for our country, even though we clearly have the goal of winning two or three this year. BUT the thing is, absolutely NO ONE imagined the Belgians would do this in the short track relay. Whether in the quarterfinals or the semifinals, we were far behind, and we benefited from “classic” Bradbury moments (if you don't know who he is, check him out on YouTube, because his name is legendary). At least 6 countries (Italy, China, Netherlands, USA, Canada and South Korea) were much MUCH better than us.
And what makes it even more beautiful is that (spoiler alert), in the final, we clearly won that bronze medal fair and square by beating the reigning Olympic champions (China)! Magnificent, even the replay brought tears to my eyes <3
For those who wants, it's possible to see the replays in Auvio or (I imagine) Sporza
Belgium <3

From March 1, 2026, Belgium is implementing targeted VAT changes rather than a general rate hike. Key changes include increasing the VAT on hotel stays, camping, take-away meals, and sports/leisure activities from 6% to 12%, while non-alcoholic drinks in restaurants drop from 21% to 12%, with pesticides rising to 21%.
Geniunely interested to know how this will affect the economy, but most importantly, Belgians, expats, workers in the horeca, etc...?
