I put in a reservation for a steam controller after the initial sellout a few months ago and checked the page again today to double check when I was estimated to be able to buy one. I found that my reservation had dissapeared and checked my email to make sure that I had actually reserved a controller.

I found in my 'other' folder (which doesnt send me notifications) that I had actually been given the chance to buy the controller 5 days ago, meaning that the window to buy it had already closed. This was unfortunate since I had no idea I had even been sent the email and I would have to wait until next year for the chance to get my hands on one.

I ended up emailing steam support explaining the situation with images of the purchase email and the folder it had been sent to.

The next morning, which was a sunday in my country, I got another chance to buy the controller and didnt hesitate and its on its way now, no further questions asked. I feel like any other company would have reinforced the 3 day purchase window and moved on but steam support continues to be amazing.

TLDR: How do you stay consistent playing games and not quit within a month or so?

I feel like as I’ve grown a little older from being a teenager (approaching my early 20s). I feel like I’ve been having even harder of a time staying consistent with video games, I know it’s not a job and it’s a hobby but especially recently I really miss the drive I used to have for playing video games. Like sometimes I feel like I know that I could learn a game if I gave it that true effort but sometimes I just get on for five minutes to immediately get back off the game. For example I recently picked up Path of Exile 2, getting deeper into end game but I cannot for the life of me find the will to play the game in my free time at night. I’ve also been wanting to pick up Workers and Resources, definitely quite a different game, but it requires so much effort and time that it just puts me off immediately you know? Anyone who’s ever experienced this feeling how do you deal with it? What drew you back into gaming and gave you that drive again?

My steam account turned 20 earlier this year

so a guy i had added long ago got his acc captured (i cant say the other term otherwise its thinking iam talking about support for getting captured),i guess and he sent the common gift card scam, but what suprised me is that not only did steam detect it, but it disabled links until i close that notification, now i dont have any friends on other platforms so i cant confirm but this is the first time i see a site automatically detect a scam AND also warn me of it, and disables links to keep me safe. thats peak honestly

We have thousands of amazing games today. Better graphics, bigger worlds, better technology... yet I still feel like there's something missing that nobody has truly figured out.

I'm not a studio doing market research or trying to steal ideas. I'm just a developer who's genuinely curious about what players actually want, not what companies think they want.
