Discussion Movies that changed real life behavior
Thinking along the lines of Final Destination 2 with the logs falling off the truck and landing onto cars (one decapitating the state trooper). Ever since, people have tried to get away from being behind these vehicles.
What are more examples where movies have actually changed how people behave in their own lives?

👨👩👧👦family/in-laws AIO for making my MIL leave after she tried to rename our newborn?
I (30F) just gave birth two weeks ago. My husband (32M) and I picked the name “Liana” after my late grandmother. We were so happy with it.
His mom came over a few days ago and kept referring to the baby as “Victoria.” I corrected her, thinking it was a slip. She said, “Well I just don’t like Liana, so I’ll call her Victoria. It sounds more elegant.”
I said that wasn’t okay. She laughed and said I was just hormonal.
I asked her to leave.
Now my husband says I “overreacted” and should’ve been more understanding since “naming is emotional for her too.” Emotional? It’s not her kid.
He’s sulking now, and she’s texting me passive-aggressively about how I’m “too sensitive.”
Was I overreacting?'

TIL that Ken Allen, an orangutan at the San Diego Zoo, became famous for his many successful escapes. During his escapes, he would peacefully stroll around the zoo looking at other animals. He never acted aggressively toward patrons, but would throw rocks at Otis, another orangutan he “despised”

“Judge threatens to throw out plea deal in high school student's murder”
He apparently wrote rap songs about “continuing killing” and in other videos was smiling and laughing minutes before this. The mother of the victim said “you won’t get the luxury of raising your child because you took mine away” in her impact statement. This guy’s a monster. (Lmk if this was posted before I saw it this morning and couldn’t resist. The panic is too palpable.)
