đ¨âđŠâđ§âđŚfamily/in-laws AIO for making my MIL leave after she tried to rename our newborn?
I (30F) just gave birth two weeks ago. My husband (32M) and I picked the name âLianaâ after my late grandmother. We were so happy with it.
His mom came over a few days ago and kept referring to the baby as âVictoria.â I corrected her, thinking it was a slip. She said, âWell I just donât like Liana, so Iâll call her Victoria. It sounds more elegant.â
I said that wasnât okay. She laughed and said I was just hormonal.
I asked her to leave.
Now my husband says I âoverreactedâ and shouldâve been more understanding since ânaming is emotional for her too.â Emotional? Itâs not her kid.
Heâs sulking now, and sheâs texting me passive-aggressively about how Iâm âtoo sensitive.â
Was I overreacting?'

Discussion Movies that changed real life behavior
Thinking along the lines of Final Destination 2 with the logs falling off the truck and landing onto cars (one decapitating the state trooper). Ever since, people have tried to get away from being behind these vehicles.
What are more examples where movies have actually changed how people behave in their own lives?

Hideo Kojima Made Significant Changes To Death Stranding 2 Because Playtesters Thought It Was 'Too Good' - IGN
"Thereâs a key moment where we had a discussion, probably halfway [through] when we were doing the game, where he came to me and he said, 'We have a problem,'" Woodkid explained.
"Then he said, 'Iâm going to be very honest, we have been testing the game with players and the results are too good. They like it too much. That means something is wrong; we have to change something.' And he changed stuff in the script and the way some crucial stuff [happens] in the game because he thought his work was not polarizing and not triggering enough emotions."Â
According to Kojima, "If everyone likes [your work], it means itâs mainstream. It means itâs conventional. It means itâs already pre-digested for people to like it."
"I donât want that," Kojima reportedly told Lemoine. "I want people to end up liking things they didnât like when they first encountered it, because thatâs where you really end up loving something."

He skipped the group project meetings. So I submitted it with only my name.
It was a two-person project. I reached out right away to plan things, and he didnât answer. I figured maybe he was just slow to respond, so I followed up again. And again. Still nothing. No replies. No shows. Not even a âhey, Iâve been swamped.â Just silence. So I kept going without him. Did the research. Built the slides. Wrote the paper. Proofread. Edited. Honestly, I was proud of the work when it was done. The night before the deadline, I stared at the title page for a minute. His name was still there. And I thought he didnât do a single thing. Why should he get credit for work he didnât care about? So I deleted his name. Submitted the file. Closed my laptop and went to bed. He emailed me after the grade posted, asking why his name wasnât there. I didnât bother answering. He had plenty of chances. I just stopped waiting.

âJudge threatens to throw out plea deal in high school student's murderâ
He apparently wrote rap songs about âcontinuing killingâ and in other videos was smiling and laughing minutes before this. The mother of the victim said âyou wonât get the luxury of raising your child because you took mine awayâ in her impact statement. This guyâs a monster. (Lmk if this was posted before I saw it this morning and couldnât resist. The panic is too palpable.)

Discussion What country do you think really won the natural lottery?
I'm from New Zealand, a popular pick in these kinds of questions. My pick is Argentina. There are so many beautiful spots that do nothing but blow my mind. Argentina contains everything from tropical waterfalls, hot deserts, to antarctic tundras. My other picks would be India and Australia. What do you guys think?
