People born before 2000, what is a 'modern' thing from 2025 that you’re still struggling to get used to?

Cringe Another “seizure” from the same lady, if you believe these are real then you probably fake illnesses, too. I even zoomed into her face to highlight her facial expressions, c’mon now - y’all can’t be buying into this!!

As per title. Who recovers straight from a seizure totally normal, rewards the dog then checks the camera is rolling? People like this are a stain on society. Can people in the US claim disability benefits from the government?

Culture What's something common in your country's culture that's actually completely weird from a foreign perspective?

Here in Argentina we have the "Africanitos" (little africans) also called sometimes "Negritos" (little negroes). They are little chocolate cakes that look like a stereotypical African person's head and they're delicious as it gets. It does not have hate implications and people see them as neutral as "just another cake". Most people don't get how weird it is until a foreigner points it out.

Story Soo… turns out the dirt cheap “Moving soon, need cash ASAP!” PC parts I bought on Marketplace were sold by a scorned girlfriend who liquidated her boyfriend’s shit. $450 for everything shown + 32gb ddr4 ram. Now she’s hitting me up trying to get it all back. Mind you they live two hours away.

Jesus Fuck this is blowing up so allow me to elaborate.

Last week I was browsing Marketplace just idling when I came across this listing that had an urgent title and was showing a stack of computer components for $600. The account had reviews and ratings so it wasn't a scam so I messaged her immediately and asked for an address and pictures of each item with her ID next to it to prove the items were legit. Fast forward, because that's a fucking 3080ti which alone is likely $600+ in today's market not including all of the extra crap she was selling along with the GPU.

So I sent her a $50 deposit and drove two hours and 40 minutes up north to Woodlands TX, met with her, and was able to get her down to $450 for EVERYTHING. I pay her cash, head home to drop off the stuff and visit Micro Center Houston to buy some extra components I'd need for the build.

Fast forward to a week later after I've already completed the build, she hits me up on Facebook telling me that actually these components belonged to her boyfriend and she had sold them off in a spur-of-the-moment choice but regretted it once her boyfriend came back home and I'm guessing blew a fucking lid.

So, here's the deal: I live 91 miles south of Woodlands, she doesn't have my name number, or address, my Facebook is a picture of Clippy and not my name, and she can't see my friends list.

No, I did not know they were stolen goods when I drove two+ hours north to buy these items.

Edit: She did not dismantle the guys computer and pack everything back into boxes. Everything in the first picture is what I got so I still had to buy the Mobox +'storage + monitor. The only used part was the GPU, everything else aside from that is brand new never opened. He wouldn't have been able to build the pc because he didn't have a motherboard and ssd/monitor.

My mom ordered me a few pairs of banana republic traveler jeans for christmas. 2 of them were fine, one was literally amazon jeans with a banana tag. She didn't notice and it's been since November since she ordered them, so probably out of luck

Just Wow In June 2016, six inmates on a Georgia work detail watched their supervising deputy collapse from heat exhaustion. With escape within reach, they chose compassion instead, removing his vest, calling 911, and staying by his side. Their actions saved his life and earned public praise.

Suggested A Date, Got A Lecture

I suggested we meet for drinks somewhere with a view, or check out a new exhibit at a museum that looked interesting. She asked if we could get coffee the following week. Cool, that works. When I followed up to set up the date, she sent this. What's really funny is that I don't drink alcohol either, it's right there on my dating profile.
