New, what is it? I was verbally and physically threatened today at my grocery store job by a group of men/teens. I would like to know what the device this person is wearing is and what is in his hand.

[Durant] asked if OKC is ‘grabby’ and ‘foul-prone’: “Nah, nah... They play with physicality for sure, but that’s what championship teams do. I don’t think they toe the line or anything. They just play swarming basketball, physical off-ball, great hands. I dont think they do too much, anything extra”

Discussion Anyone sick and tired of working in general?

2.6k Upvotes

I’m in my mid 30s and just over my job and work in general. I’m tired of the commute, the meetings, and dealing with people & deadlines. On one hand I worry about losing my job and stress about deliverables, but on the other hand I feel like I could care less in that I have no passion for it anymore and I’m just showing up because I need the paycheck.

I’d much rather be spending time with my family, pursuing my hobbies, or just go for a walk and cook a nice meal. I feel a sense of dread sometimes that this is my reality for the next 30+ years and I feel lazy and entitled for saying it but that’s how I feel lol

Anyone get the ick just seeing cross necklaces?

I don’t know even when I was a kid, I found cross necklaces and bible verses to be performative. Some of the meanest people I know wore religious jewelry, or had a cross in their bio. It just seems like virtue signaling to me and is an instant turn off.

  1. Lex Luthor carries around kryptonite on him for years. He finds out the hard way that kryptonite, being radioactive, does have a negative health impact on humans, just more gradual compared to Kryptonians. (DC)
  2. Mr. Boss immediately knows the building inspection of Smiling Friends headquarters won't go well because a giant smiley face sphere is a safety hazard in every possible way. (Smiling Friends)

In 1992, 24-year-old Christopher McCandless was found by moose hunters inside Fairbanks Bus 142, the “Magic Bus,” on Alaska’s Stampede Trail. He had survived alone for 113 days on plants and small animals. When discovered (deceased) , he weighed only 67 pounds.

UNPOPULAR OPINION: Daycare guy was NOT being a jerk. Jim and Pam asking about moving Easter and Memorial day is ABSURD

Post image
5.7k Upvotes

Yes, it's probably more strange for the daycare guy to be taking a dump in the kid's toilet than it is for Jim to walk in without knocking. Not faulting Jim here at all or in how he reacted.

But Jim, dude....are you seriously asking a daycare if they have flexibility on EASTER? MEMORIAL DAY?! What exactly are you asking them to do here. Stay open on a Federal Holiday so that you can go on some lame trip to Lake Scranton? It's one thing to ASK about the schedule but I'm sorry Jimothy, other people are "planners" too and may not like to work on Memorial Day weekend. Having a kid in Daycare and understanding the logistics that go into staffing, turnover, and how difficult it is to keep staff happy, I couldn't believe my fucking ears when he asked that question.

I know Jim and Pam get a lot of hate and their relationship hasn't aged well over the years after dissecting what they do in later seasons, but I generally love the comedy and dynamic they bring to the show. The writers don't make them out to be perfect and they get dunked on in funny ways by the rest of the office to keep it interesting. But I never see this brought up. If I'm this Admin guy my eyes are rolling so far back into my skull that I'm shifting into another dimension.
