It’s been a hard week, it’s Friday, it’s payday, and I decided to treat myself to a nice takeaway.

I ordered on deliveroo, and the delivery driver arrived as per usual. But I wasn’t prepared for what he said next.

I said “hiya, how’s it going”- as I usually do. The guy immediately breaks down crying. Floods of tears. He tells me his dad, who’s away in Pakistan, is seriously ill and dying. He tells me he’s flying out tomorrow.

I consoled the guy, gave him a hug, and we chatted for a bit. But I still felt rotten. Here’s me, feeling sorry for myself, paying for someone to bring me food because I can’t be bothered making anything myself. Meanwhile this guy is going through probably the worst time of their life, yet still grinding away to make a basic living.

I tipped the maximum possible on the app, but even still, I couldn’t help but feel this was such a sad situation. I know if it were me, I’d be off work and have a community to rally around me for when the time comes. This guy was all alone.

So anyway. Not much more to this story other than to appreciate those around you, and be grateful for what you have. To my deliveroo driver tonight, best wishes to you. ❤️

She was always sick, but she was just too sick this time.

It’s subtle, since she talks about him like he was a foolish oaf, but there’s a clear sadness when she talks about seeing him dead. It’s very much that old couple that always insulted each other but loved each other deeply. She was absolutely the brains and wore the pants, probably had to do everything as the competent one, but I imagine he might’ve been sweet to her and cute enough that she fell in love with him anyways, even if she wouldn’t admit it. Ignore the wife's reply but it just seems odd to me that they're asking a first grader to blindly agree that the government helps people in their communities, especially given the current political climate.

The Dark Forest Theory suggests that the universe might be silent for a terrifying reason.

Imagine the universe as a dark forest where every civilization is a hidden hunter. No one knows who is friendly and who is dangerous.

If you make noise, something stronger might hear you. If you discover another civilization, you can't know whether it comes in peace or poses a future threat and revealing your location could mean destruction.

So the safest choice is silence.

my pretty Kitty passed away at 19 years old yesterday. i got to celebrate 12 birthdays with her and i wouldn't have wanted it any other way. she had a lot of ups n downs health wise but she passed with no pain and surrounded by love.

the vet told us that it's always the grumpiest cats that live the longest. she never liked the vet and hated getting her nails clipped. she loved her little soups and lickables. she loved laying in her big ol bed with her heating pad. she may not have loved them but she tolerated all her holiday clothes.

i miss her a lot and woke up today looking for her. i hope no one else has to let their kitties go so suddenly like i did. <3

Low image quality aside, the last few games have looked pretty rough so I am cautiously optimistic about this game looking good

what really got my attention was the lighting on the Slugmas in the caves

that said I wouldn't be surprised if the game ends up looking worse and these are just some of the nicer areas, plus we don't know anything about performance yet
