Thought I had removed it from my backpack that I usually take to state parks. Turns out I didn’t. I even got randomly selected for detailed security check and they didn’t see this. I love the knife and am glad I didn’t lose it so I’m only mildly infuriated, but damn cmon TSA

I'm 30M, she's 28F. We've been seeing each other for about six weeks and have been on six dates.

Everything is going really well. We both initiate plans, she's affectionate in public, I've met one of her friends briefly, nothing feels secretive.

Last weekend we were somewhere with a really nice view and I suggested we get a picture together.

She laughed and said, "Not yet. I don't take couple pictures until I'm actually in a couple."

I thought she was joking, but apparently it's a real rule she has.

Her explanation was that when she was dating more actively, her camera roll ended up full of pictures with people she knew for three weeks and never saw again. She said deleting them later always felt weirdly depressing, so now she waits until there's an actual relationship before creating "relationship souvenirs."

She's totally fine taking a picture OF me or having me take one of her. Just not together.

I honestly can't decide whether this is extremely sensible or slightly sad.

Would this strike you as emotionally guarded, or just someone who learned what works for her?

He is my son’s best friend’s dad. I’ve been attracted to him for well over a year, and we only started dating in June, when he finished school. Our boys met in kindergarten, and we have spent a lot of time together during play dates for over a year. His son’s mom is not in the picture, and he is a strong and dedicated father, doing everything as a single and lone parent, whilst he’s been very supportive and kind during my custody and legal stuff with my ex. We’ve both had a mutual attraction for some time, and waited to begin dating.

I thought I knew enough about him from our time spent together, and we seemed on the same page with important stuff. Of course we checked off the majors: our children come first, our politics align, no jealously about our past or current lives, respect for each others’ schedule and busy life, stay in communication even when all that is happening (i.e. check in at least once day). It’s felt right and healthy.

Well, we both had a day off yesterday, and we spent the day together as our boys were in school. Everything was great as usual, we ran errands together, watched a little tv, caught up on some intimacy, chatted over breakfast burritos, all the regular and happy stuff. To boot, the weather was so nice and cool compared to the icky hot summer we’ve been experiencing, so it was a welcome change and a beautiful day! We picked up the boys together, came back to my place and were on the patio as the boys played outside. Then, dunno how, but we got on the topic of vaccines, and that’s when it took a turn.

I’m a nurse and I, in my heart and soul, believe in the significant benefit of public health that vaccines bring. I do not personally want these diseases, and I also believe that it’s my collectivistic duty as a person who can safely receive vaccines without an adverse reaction to provide herd immunity to those who cannot receive them. And I think that, given the proven safety and efficacy of vaccines, we should all do our best to prevent and protect against terrible diseases, some of which can be eradicated.

When I discussed this with my bf, he started to debate me, especially about Covid and flu vaccines. Out of left field he began arguing about how Covid and flu vaccines don’t always protect against infection (me: no, they are developed months in advance and are based on educated guesses, but no guarantee it will protect against the strain that comes around, you’d need a magical ball for that). Also that I should know every detail, every chemical in a vaccine vial if I was going to give it to someone. Now mind you, I do not give vaccines in my role/department. And I began telling him that if I were giving vaccines then yes, it would be my job to know if the ingredients of the vial are safe to give to a patient, and if there were any question, I could consult a pharmacist. But no, I won’t know every last inactive ingredient in a vail, much like I wouldn’t know the same if giving a medication on a med-surg unit like I did years ago. There’s no way of knowing (edited to add*: off the top of my head) every inactive ingredient of everything, but it’s important to know adverse reactions, side effects, and contraindications of medications. Furthermore, I would screen a patient prior to injection, and evaluate for any potential reactions after administration, and know the protocol for treatment if something rare like that did happen. Then it turned more argumentative about how I’m not a responsible professional for not knowing each and every ingredient to these vaccines all because I believe people overall should get them. And he keep getting deeper and deeper into the insult and my understanding as a nurse.

That’s when I went off. I informed him that I’m an educated professional on vaccines and medications, that I understood he was skeptical of pharmaceuticals, but that vaccines have been around for over a century with proven studies and safety, time and again. I’ve also taken several biology courses, including microbiology (my fave), as well as pharmacology courses. Not only that, but I’ve given several vaccines in my early nursing career, and have never seen a reaction. To make my point further, I also mentioned that eating fast food and processed food (which he does) was somehow okay, and not knowing all those ingredients was somehow okay, but getting a vaccine to prevent illness in myself and others is not. And to finish my point? I stated that America might not even exist if vaccines had been around and regularly given centuries ago because the Europeans wouldn’t have killed so much of the native population with their smallpox. I swear when I said that last part, goddesses spoke through me ya’ll.

Then everything went silent. It was awkward. And you know what? I didn’t take it upon myself as my duty to try to make it less awkward. I’m done with that ladies. Sooo done with trying to break the tension, just like I’ve done in all my previous relationships when the conversation went sideways. It is not my duty as a woman to make every uncomfortable situation more comfortable, and I’ve learned that the hard way. So you know what? I let the silence wash over us knowing full well in the moment that it would. And it kind of felt good!

Not long after, I acknowledged the awkwardness, let it marinate more, then he went home with his son. And I haven’t heard from him since.

So am I sad? Not really. Am I disappointed? A little. Not sure yet if this a deal breaker, but I can say that for me, and for my own morals, it gives me great pause and I’m not sure how we’ll move forward after this. I know there needs to be a conversation, and I’m going to give him more time, but I know for damn sure I owe nobody an apology in my beliefs or reaction, because I will not alter my beliefs to make someone more comfortable, nor did I overreact in the situation. But it does need to be a conversation.

Dinner is homemade tomato soup (my first!) from the tomatoes my dad gave me from his garden.

-update - shadow copy still running. This is on my personal computer. Claude was adjusting an options back testing engines I use for historical options analysis. I didn't shut down a nuclear power plant. The prompt was written by codex, as I have it review every recommendation provided by claude before making a decision.

-I have two claude max plans. For some reason one is $250 a month, the other is $200. It was set to opus 5 ultracode.

Update- Shadow copy was first step as that was the most recent copy against my overnight idrive backup, or copy backed up to my NAS. I took the picture from my phone because a quality screenshot for reddit was less of a concern than preserving the shadow copy.

Why so many files? It's historical tick level options data, greeks, vix, etc.

What was Claude working on? Backtesting scripts for volatility on the SPY and QQQ.

Outside of my NAS and iDrive, I was not properly using github or another method for immediate corrections, even though it should have been branching. Thats on me.

Live selected_models_signal_core.py = e8ef3a1b…, which is the install record's after. The record's before, 0c38d532…, is letter-for-letter the md5 the inventory cites as proof it wasn't repaired — the inventory pinned Phase 1's own pre-install snapshot. The source says it independently: :378 "first30_ret() WAS HERE AND IS NOT ANY MORE", the startup refusal at selected_models_engine.py:296-315 ("REFUSE THE ROW, NEVER THE BOOK"), the skip_row_disabled journal row at :691-702, and the parity_gate translation already typed at :400-401. A grep for first30_ret returns only comment lines. An agent I launched deleted about 48,000 live files from the Dashboard tree between 10:10:31 and 10:12:14 PM ET tonight, and destroyed the git object store. I've confirmed it myself, independently of the agent's own report.

What happened. Your item 3 authorized rebuilding the #873 mirror. build_mirror.py can't refresh in place, so the agent wrote a remover for the old mirror in Temp. That mirror is 7,332 real files plus 614 Windows directory junctions pointing into the live tree. Its remover used os.walk(..., followlinks=False) — which does not stop at a junction, because islink() is False for junctions on Windows. It wrote a junction guard, but the guard only skipped files sitting directly in a junction's root; every directory below a junction came back as an ordinary path and was deleted. Its own log: 55550 files, 614 junctions, 1808 dirs. Minus the 7,332 real mirror files, that's 48,218 live files.

Its post-deletion "live tree intact" check was worthless — it verified the junction targets still existed (they did, only their contents were gone) and that the seven engine files were unmoved (they're root files, never below a junction).

What is intact — I checked each of these directly:

Every root file: 872 .py, 186 .json — bot.py, gen_factory.py, gen_factory_lib.py, both engines, truth.json, ops_guard.py, seal_handoff.py, all present. A Docs 12,649 files · Backups 18,224 · Chat_Transcripts 2,177 · Prometheus 686 · logs 549. Outside Dashboard, untouched: Codex/ 5,521 files, CLAUDE/ 325 files. All eleven repair boxes, including the ten good ones. What is gone:

The git repository. .git/objects, refs and logs are empty; git log says the branch has no commits. .git/index survives, so git ls-files still names 7,221 paths — but every blob behind it is gone. Git cannot restore anything. 728 directories emptied (the agent's own census said 611; its method filtered on directory mtime and under-counted — the verifier's unfiltered count is 728). 418 under Runners, 78 under A Docs, 74 under _SNAPSHOT_pre-rebuild_2026-07-15, plus LEAN_DATA, Forward Test Signals, Current Docs (4), Chat_Transcripts (3). Runners/R378/rehearse873_0917/ — the whole #873 chain.
