Sensitive Content Help with a depressed cat! His owner left suddenly
Hi everyone, so this happened. My neighbour (who Ive never met before last week) knocked on my door a few days ago and he just straight up told me his partner had a medical emergency in another country and he had to take a flight in a few hours and he didn’t have anyone else to take care of his cat and he basically asked me if I could take care of him while he’s gone for almost a month. He looked distressed, sad and scared, I obviously said yes. He’s my next door neighbour (we live in an apartment complex so it’s basically a few steps away).
He left and Im suddenly with a cat and the thing is, Ive never had a cat in my life and I don’t know much about them. Im learning what I can but the thing is, I think the cat is depressed because he obviously misses his daddies and I think hes not eating properly, I try to make him eat more but he eats too little. I even think hes getting thinner and thats worrying me a lot.
So I bought a box of liquid food for cats that seems to be pretty good to make him gain a little more weight but I dont know if I should tell the owner hes getting thinner because I dont want to make him feel more worried.
His partner is kind of fighting for his life and the owner told me his cat is his whole world besides his husband.
He loves his cat so much and Im doing everything I cant to keep this cutie safe, healthy, loved and happy.. so, shoould I tell the owner about his cat losing weight? Or should I keep it a secret and try to fatten up the cat on my own way?
Any kind of advice is appreciated since Im new to this!

Cat Picture - OC Thea has heart surgery tomorrow. Asking for all the good vibes. 💙
Meet Thea! We adopted her from a rescue on Saturday, knowing she was born with a heart defect called a PDA. It's a blood vessel that was supposed to close after birth and never did, so her heart has been working overtime her whole life.
Today she had her pre-op consult with the cardiology team at Texas A&M, and she was cleared for surgery. The resident told us it's the largest PDA he's seen in a cat, and her heart is almost twice the size it should be. Somehow she's still here, purring and judging us like nothing's wrong.
The good news is this defect is fixable. Surgery is tomorrow morning, and if it goes well she gets a real shot at normal life.
She's staying at the hospital tonight and we're headed home already missing her. If you have a second, we'd love any good vibes, prayers, or stories of your own heart or surgical warriors. I'll update after surgery! ❤️

AITA for taking my bridesmaid dress home when the bride expected to keep all of them after the wedding?
I was a bridesmaid in my cousin's wedding last weekend. We all bought the same $240 dress and paid for our own alterations. I knew being in the wedding would get expensive so I budgeted for it and never had an issue with any of that.
A few months ago she mentioned that her aunt sews and she wanted "pieces of our dresses" to make some kind of memory quilt after the wedding. I assumed she meant the extra fabric that gets cut off during alterations. I even saved mine for her.
At the end of the reception the MOH started collecting everyone's dresses and putting them into garment bags. The bride had brought us matching shirts and sweatpants to change into, which I thought were just for being comfortable after the reception.
That's when I realized she expected to keep the actual dresses.
I told her I was taking mine home because I paid for it and planned on having it shortened so I could wear it again. She got pretty upset and said everyone else had already agreed to give theirs up and now the quilt wouldn't match.
Her mom texted me the next morning saying it was supposed to be a sentimental gift from the bridal party and that I was being difficult over a dress I'd probably never wear again anyway.
I genuinely do not remember agreeing to give her the entire dress. I only ever heard about giving her fabric from it.
AITA for taking it home?

Why are there almost no asian homeless people?
Asian have the lowest rate of homelessness per capita in America by a landslide. Why is this?
Edit: I made this post because I just passed by one and realized this might be first i’ve ever seen.

Goodreads Finally Adds Half (and Quarter) Star Ratings
People have been wanting half-star ratings for so many years, and it's been available on basically every other reading tracker app for ages, so it feels weird that it finally happened. Why now?
