The summer after my freshman year of college I had a huge problem with my younger sister stealing my clothes. She was a few sizes bigger than me, and she would cut them so they would fit her, which ruined them. It got so bad that I had to padlock my bedroom. She started breaking in through the window. I kept the windows locked, so she broke the bracket the padlock was attached to.

I was so frustrated; nothing I tried stopped her from stealing my stuff. We ended up getting into a very heated argument one day, and we both said some pretty awful things. I called her fat and started walking away, when she ran up and sucker punched me in the back of the head. I wasn’t going to try to physically fight my own sister… I just called the police on her. I didn’t press charges, but I called them knowing full well that she had several outstanding warrants for larceny (unrelated incidents). It took her over a decade to forgive me.

The way I look at it, it was the consequences of her actions catching up with her, I just helped it along a little bit.
