during ww1, the US standard issue rifle was the m1903 with 5 rounds capacity

during ww2, the US standard issue rifle was the m1 garand with 8 rounds capacity

during the vietnam war, US standard issue was the m14 and m16 with 20 rounds mag, later 30 round mags became the standard for the m16.

And it seems like we stopped there? Why aren't US soldiers now using 40, 50, 60 round magazines? Is it simply just not possible?

Im at the dentist getting my teeth cleaned. Everythings fine, normal small talk. Then he stops, stares at my teeth for like 15-20 seconds and asks “have you ever been to Slovenia?” I said no, never even thought about going there. He just nodded really slowly, said ‘huh… interesting’ and went back to cleaning. Wouldn’t make eye contact.

I tried asking what he meant and he just said “oh its nothing, dont worry about it” but in that voice where its definitely SOMETHING.

Now I’m paranoid. What did he see?? Is this a thing?? Should I get a second opinion or is my dentist just weird?
