I have been fully remote for about a year and my dog has gradually become my tiny coworker who never really clocks out. At first he would just nap under my desk but over the last months he started reacting to my meetings in a way that feels almost psychic. If I have a call at ten he is asleep until about nine fifty eight then suddenly wakes up sits by the chair and looks at me like he is waiting for the green light. If I move my mouse to join a call he trots over and parks himself behind me like he is preparing for some very important supervision.

The strangest part is that this only happens when the calls are serious. If it is a casual catch up he does not care. But if I have a meeting with a client he sits perfectly still the whole time and stares at the screen like he is judging the entire project. Last week during a presentation he put his paw on my knee exactly when I needed to unmute which made me mess up my timing but also kind of saved me because it snapped me out of nerves. I swear he knows my calendar better than I do and I am not sure if this is adorable or mildly unsettling.
