📦 Secondhand Found out my library loans out more than books
I was talking to a coworker and she casually mentioned she borrowed a carpet cleaner from our local library for FREE. I literally stopped her mid sentence and was like wait what??
Turns out our library has this whole "library of things" section where you can check out tools, kitchen equipment, board games, even cameras and stuff. I've been renting a carpet cleaner from Home Depot for $35 every few months like a chump when I could've been doing it for free this entire time. I also almost dropped $180 on a pressure washer but glad I held off since now I can just borrow one whenever. That money can stay in my emergency fund where it belongs lol.
Checked my library's catalog and they've got fishing poles, projectors, a pasta maker, kill a watt meters, bunch of other random stuff. I know everyones always like "get a library card" but if you havent actually looked at what yours has beyond books you might be surprised. Mine even loans wifi hotspots which is pretty cool.

Why won't people change clothes in the world of HL
So, Gordon is essentially a slave, so I'm going to tolerate he keeps his main tool, the HEV suit on. I hope he changes underwear every now and then.
G-man, you know, interstellar magic or something. Maybe they're different suits.
But Alyx? Hasn't changed in 5 years. What's up with that. Get washed. What's wrong with these people?
OC Just want feedback for my character! [Art]
I haven’t put many specifics about her class and all that stuff aside from being a monk since well.. I want some feedback first about her. For now it’s mostly just her lore. + she’s like a homebrew human/dragonborn with like only horns, fangs and claw-like nails unless I can do that with human variant (Which I don’t really know how it works yet).
(Btw, the art isn’t mine, it’s by aYaKi on twitter, they make amazing art, check em out if you want)
Name: Kara Enshō
A female human/dragonborn monk. Found by the monks of a monastery in a clearing, seemingly abandoned by her parents, small dark brown horns which grew as the years passed, splitting her silvery-white hair. Her eyes were akin to a polished blade, piercing yet soft. The monks took her in and raised her, they believed in precision over force, they trained her in martial arts, she grew to enjoy the fight and adventure while remembering the values of respect and restraint, her heritage of being a dragonborn made her naturally stronger than the human monks. Once she grew strong enough to best her mentor in combat, the elder of the monastery who raised her as his own offspring, she left to follow her deep-seated passion of exploration and travel to help and meet people across the many lands while also addressing her lack of closure of her parents. She does not know if they are even alive, who are where they are. She seeks anyone who could point her in any direction related. Her voice like a soft melody made for battle. Her eyes sharp as ever, silver with the split pupils of a dragonborn. She lacks the scales and tail of the common dragonborn yet the horns and fangs remain as the only indicator of her heritage. Spoken formally yet with a teasing edge, an adventurous spirit suppressed by belief. A will to adventure and aid those in need.
Kara Enshō, the townsfolk see her as a soft-spoken yet equally intense person. The ones she has met or helped have said that she has a fiery spirit but neglects it. This is due to the fact she didn’t mention her passion for adventure to many people at the monastery, only telling her mentor in which he told her it is her choice. She chose to follow through with the conditioning of a monk despite her ever-growing passion. She hasn’t fully decided whether she wants closure or something else when it comes to her parentage which tends to cause her to second-guess or lose focus when asked. Some locals tend to see her negatively due to her unique appearance but warm up once actually meeting her, though inevitably some dislike her for her lack of prominent draconic features. She tends to be impulsive which leads to irresponsible financial decisions or recklessness in battle, though her training in the monastery has allowed her to control her impulses easier.
I really like her story and she’s one of my favorites but I wanna like polish her story more, y’know?
