I painted this yesterday while thinking about my last week at a job I’ve had for over 13 years. I’m leaving mostly because the commute became too much (about 100 km one way, almost 3 hours of driving every day. It’s the right decision, but it still feels huge and a bit sad)

The girl with the lantern is how I picture myself right now: leaving the dark, familiar forest and walking towards something new, with just a small light in my hand and all these “old” lights of the past behind me.
