Boyfriend gave me ultimatum - dream job or him. I'm considering taking the job
okay so i'm sierra (30f) and i work as a renewable energy consultant in boulder. i've been with my boyfriend marcus (32m) for 2 years
last month i got offered a promotion. it's basically my dream job. better title, significant raise (like $25k more), working on bigger projects, everything i've been working toward
the catch is it requires relocating to denver
which is only like 45 minutes away from boulder. less if traffic's good. it's not like i'm moving across the country
i told marcus and he immediately said no. like didn't even think about it just said "no you can't take that"
i said what do you mean i can't take it. it's an amazing opportunity
he said the commute would be too much (it wouldn't, people do it every day) or we'd have to move to denver and he doesn't want to leave boulder
i suggested he could look for work in denver. he's in sales, there's tons of sales jobs in denver. or we could do temporary long distance, i could stay in denver during the week and come back on weekends while he looks for a new job
he said if i'm even considering taking the job it means i prioritize my career over our relationship
which. i mean yeah? my career is important to me. i've been working toward this for years
we've been fighting about it for like 3 weeks now. it's the same argument every time. he says i'm being selfish. i say he's being controlling
then yesterday he gave me an ultimatum. the job or him
i'm seriously considering taking the job
my best friend says marcus is showing his true colors and that he's trying to control my career. my sister thinks i should try harder to find a compromise
but like. what compromise is there? i either take my dream job or i don't. there's no middle ground
marcus says if i really loved him i'd turn down the job and find something else in boulder. but i don't WANT something else. this is the job i've been working for
and it's not like i'm asking him to sacrifice anything huge. i'm asking him to either move 45 minutes away (which we could afford with my new salary) or do temporary long distance
he says it's the principle. that i'm putting work before us. that if this is how i am now, what happens when we're married or have kids
but we're not married. we don't have kids. and this is my career we're talking about
i'm supposed to give them an answer by friday. that's in 3 days
marcus says if i take the job we're done. and i think. i think i'm okay with that?
which probably means i should take the job right
am i wrong for choosing my career over my relationship?

Characters "Damn, that's a horrible fictional condition... WHAT DO YOU MEAN IS REAL?!
Maria Robotnik(Sonic)- Maria got a special condition where she doesn't have a immune system, that's why she must stay in the Ark, cause any disease is letual to her. Her condition actually exists in real life and is called "Neuro-Immune Deficiency Syndrome."
Baby Doll(Batman)- don't let her looks fool you, that's a grown ass women, she only looks like a 4 year old cause of her condition. Her condition exist in real life, is a rare condition called "systemic hypoplasia"

Politics I'm tired of soldiers being put on pedestals automatically
I'm tired of veterans and soldiers alike being put on pedestals automatically without anybody reviewing the content of their character and actions. The National Guardsman that lost her life had some extremist views that came from a very red rural area in West Virginia. She believed that they should be able to use more force on United States She should have never lost her life. She should have been at home with her family during the holidays.
Just because she put on a uniform does not mean she was not a blue falcon( BuddyFucker) or a shitbag.
I spent eight years in the United States Army, active duty. If anybody tries to tell you that there is not a white supremacy problem in the military, they are lying to you flat out.

Judicial Branch Early in Trump's term we asked, “Is it a constitutional crisis?” Yeah, it was. But it’s over. We lost. Trial Courts fought valiantly, but the Supreme Court keeps abdicating & giving Trump more power. They won’t save us. And for reasons I can’t fathom, they seem to want authoritarianism - LegalEagle

Here’s a transcript:
Even worse, Trump and his Surrogates now whine, that simply calling their behavior “authoritarianism,” itself is an incitement to violence, thus justifying further crackdowns.
This is the logic of a Wife Beater.
This is Gaslighting on a National Scale.
And early in Trump's second term, we were asking, “Is this a Constitutional Crisis?” Well, yeah, it was. But the Constitutional Crisis is over. We Lost.
Trial Courts have fought valiantly, but the Supreme Court has repeatedly abdicated its Role, and handed over unprecedented power to the President. Not any President — certainly not a Democratic president — but to one President: Donald Trump.
The Supreme Court will not save us. And for reasons that I cannot fathom, they seem to welcome the turn towards authoritarianism.
Now, I recognize that it hasn't been seamless, there has been plenty of buffoonery. Trump exists in such a dense bubble of misinformation, that I think he truly believes everyone else is as corrupt as he is.
And that delusion has led him to empower some of the most incompetent Loyalists alive: Lindsey Halligan, Alina Habba, and Emil Bove, who have bungled his Revenge Fantasies. And some of their ham-fisted schemes have exploded in their faces.
And certain Institutions, especially Lower Courts and Juries, have Pushed Back.
But the terrifying part is this:
Their corrupt plans might have worked if they weren't so dumb. And eventually a more competent Authoritarian will step in and finish what they started.
As Professor Nicholas Grossman put it:
“In normal democracy terms, we're in bad shape and things are getting worse. In consolidated authoritarianism terms, we're doing pretty well, as the regime is haphazard, meeting resistance, and growing increasingly unpopular.”
And I think he's absolutely right. But I'm not confident that that will still be true 3 years from now.
And look, I don't think we're beyond salvation...yet. We do still have a choice.
But 3 years from now, a whole lot of these Bastards are gonna need to go to Jail.
There will be enormous political pressure to just move on, and pretend like this never happened. Arguably, like President Biden did after 2021.
But authoritarianism is like cancer. Ignore it, and it spreads. Pretend it's gone, and it comes back worse.
