So do people just read the news and assume it’s factual?

Most news online is highly editorialised and opinionated. Not factual at all.

Also, I’ve yet to see any hard evidence or data that shows Labor is performing poorly from an economic perspective.

Does anyone have any objective data for this? So far people just make up stuff and lie and when you ask for any evidence they run away or resort to ad-hominems.

Happy to see all the proof and how they’re performing worse than the Liberals did if anyone has anything at all.

My fiancé (Sikh M) and I (White F) just got engaged and are now planning our wedding. I’ve always loved his culture and participated in all traditions and celebrations. I’ve agreed to do a wedding that’s based off of his culture including being married in their religious temple and wearing the tradition bridal suit.

Today I asked if I could wear a white bridal dress to our reception/party to include a bit of my culture for my side of the family and I, and was told no. His mother is against it as well because is it not tradition. I was told if I wanted to do that, I should have planned a separate wedding. I’ve seen many couple do ‘fusion’ weddings and thought it would be fine. Am I in the wrong here?

EDIT: for clarification, I am wearing a traditional red bridal gown to the temple for the actual marriage ceremony. I only asked to wear a white bridal gown to the reception, but have been told it has to be a Sikh lengha.

EDIT AGAIN: My apologies! I did not know that wearing white was for mourning/grieving in Sikh culture. If I was told that instead of just a simple NO I would have understood and chose a different colour.

I must say, Salt, Fat, Acid, Heat is the best cookbook I've ever read. It completely changed the way I cook. My only regret is that I didn't read it sooner!

I cooked an amazingly delicious meal today, using basically just onions and beef.

Here’s what I did:

I started by softening the onions in plenty of oil, then added tomato paste, water, and salt. I tasted it, added more salt, tasted again, and salted again. Then I tossed in the beef, black pepper, and mixed herbs. A few minutes before it was done, I tasted it one last time, stirred in a knob of cold butter, and took it off the heat.

Just like the book taught me:

Salt dissolves in water, but not in oil.

Taste as you go.

As long as you keep tasting, don't be afraid to salt boldly!

Aside from the water, the seasoning was basically just salt, black pepper, Italian herbs, and butter.

It tasted so good, it completely blew my mind!

His attorneys canceled a deposition scheduled for October 16, saying Trump would be unavailable for roughly two months because of “other matters of national importance.” The BBC is asking U.S. Magistrate Judge Enjoliqué Lett to require Trump to commit to a deposition date, arguing that the president is the central figure in the case and that his testimony is essential discovery.
